Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.</p>\n<p>The Vehicle Management Agency’s mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public. Our mechanics work on light fleet vehicles, school buses, plow trucks and heavy equipment.&nbsp; This work is vital to keep the Province’s fleet safely on the road.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>What you will do</b></p>\n<p>The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Edmundston District as a Mechanic (AST and T&amp;T) working in the St-André Heavy Repair Facility.</p>\n<p>As a member of the Vehicle Management Agency, the successful candidate will be responsible for</p>\n<ul>\n <li>the maintenance, repair and installation of automotive and related equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>Work environment:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Location: St-André</li>\n <li>40-hour work week, with variable hours, including evenings and weekends, when required.</li>\n <li>We promote a scent-reduced environment.</li>\n <li>Some travel within the region will be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>Who you are</b></p>\n<p><b>Key behavioural competencies:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Analytical Thinking/Judgment</li>\n <li>Results Orientation</li>\n <li>Teamwork and Cooperation</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>Essential Qualifications:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Possession of Journeyperson's certificates in the Automotive Service Technician (AST) and the Truck and Transport (T&amp;T) trades as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Please attach a copy of your driver's license with your application.</b></p>\n<p>An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.</p>\n<p>Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. The successful candidate will receive an additional 5% to their hourly salary rate as a temporary adjustment for recruitment and retention.</p>\n<p><b>Mechanic (AST or T&amp;T):&nbsp; Journeyperson’s Certificate in AST or T&amp;T: $33.03&nbsp;</b>per hour, based on a 40- hour week.
