Our mission is to improve the quality of life in our communities by creating value through problem-solving and design. As a part of a multi-disciplinary organization, traffic engineers work with several departments to prepare drawings for state department and private clients’ approvals.<br><br>Individuals in this role need to have a strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, practices, and standards with experience using traffic analysis software. Operating in both the public and private sectors, the ideal candidate would be aware of all local, state, and federal regulations as they relate to those areas. Depending on availability and level of workload, this position could be full-time or part-time. No hybrid or remote work is available at this time.<br><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: rgb(52, 73, 94); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span><br>•    Conduct traffic impact studies for new projects and provide recommendations for improvements.<br>•    Analyze traffic data and conduct traffic capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement. <br>•    Collaborate with state transportation planners and engineers to develop sustainable transportation solutions.<br>•    Conduct safety assessments and recommend measures to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.<br>•    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management measures and make necessary adjustments<br>•    Stay updated on the latest traffic engineering practices, regulations, and technology advancements<br>•    Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: rgb(52, 73, 94); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">EDUCATION &amp; SKILLS</span></span><br>The candidate should possess at least a four (4) year college degree in civil or traffic engineering. They should hold a current Delaware P.E. license or can obtain one within twelve (12) months of employment.
