Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>A day in the life of a <strong>Patient Observer</strong> at Hackensack Meridian<em> Health</em> includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for the safety of the Patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions</li>\n <li>Provide a safe environment for patients who are on One to One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight or Patient Safety</li>\n <li>Provide frequent checks on patients that have a Patient Watch Order</li>\n <li>Provide direction to patient to ensure that they do not fall or wander off</li>\n <li>Record and Document patient behavior</li>\n <li>Must be able to travel with patient when needed</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:</strong></p>\n<p>1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.</p>\n<p>2. The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.</p>\n<p>3. Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:</strong></p>\n<p>1. Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.</p>\n<p>2. Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licenses and Certifications Required:</strong></p>\n<p>1.
