The Medical Laboratory Scientist will refine skills in the areas of attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication as they begin to mentor and train Medical Laboratory Technicians. This is an exempt role with no supervisory responsibility.&nbsp;</p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p>&nbsp;</p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p><strong>Role Responsibilities</strong></p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><ul><li>Determine the acceptability of samples for testing according to established criteria.</li><li>Advanced sample processing for blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, and other specimens in accordance with SOPs and/or Sponsor requirements.</li><li>Monitor and operate instrumentation, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urine analyzers.</li><li>Notify vet staff of clinically significant results.</li><li>Preventative maintenance and quality control of all analyzers</li><li>Collect and record data both on paper and electronically in a laboratory management system in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).</li><li>Study protocol review.</li><li>Data review for GLP compliance&nbsp;</li><li>Basic point technician duties, including study book preparation and collection.</li><li>Generate and verify accountabilities and sample manifests.</li><li>Pack samples for shipment.</li><li>Refrigerator and freezer mapping qualifications</li><li>Submit quality control data.</li><li>Basic microbiological setup and testing of samples.</li><li>Train and mentor Medical Laboratory Assistants</li><li>Assist in providing scientific guidance to Study Directors</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p><strong>Role Requirements</strong></p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in relevant discipline required.</li><li>ASCP or AMT certification preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum 2 years of medical laboratory experience preferred.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication.</li><li>Advanced understanding of study design and operational procedures</li><li>Knowledge of GLP and other federal regulations relating to the care of laboratory animals.</li><li>Ability to work effectively and independently under time constraints</li></ul></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p>&nbsp;</p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p><strong>Behavioral Expectations</strong></p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><ul><li>Attention to Detail</li><li>Problem Solving</li><li>Communication</li></ul></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p>&nbsp;</p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p></td></tr><tr><td valign=\"bottom\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><ul><li>This role works predominantly in a laboratory.
