Usually performing their duties in a utility capacity, the Laborer position entails working on construction projects, often transferring from one task to another whenever the situation requires. If you meet the job requirements outlined below, <strong>H&K</strong> would be happy to consider you for this position.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acquire tools needed for daily operations</li>\n <li>Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line</li>\n <li>Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms</li>\n <li>Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications</li>\n <li>Level earth to fine grade specifications</li>\n <li>Mix concrete </li>\n <li>Smooth and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete</li>\n <li>Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections</li>\n <li>Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces</li>\n <li><strong>Pipe Duties:</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Get tools needed for daily operations</li>\n   <li>Get job set up for daily function such as setting up a pipe laser</li>\n   <li>Operate a Wacker and jumping jack to perform backfilling duties</li>\n   <li>Use cut saws to make pipe proper length</li>\n   <li>Prep pipe for connection before pipe gets lowered</li>\n   <li>Shoot grades and checks grades using laser or conventional methods</li>\n   <li>Perform connection of pipe work</li>\n   <li>Responsible for checking for proper pipe slope</li>\n   <li>Prep structures for installation</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures</li>\n <li>Written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> <strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Three years of related experience and/or training</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms</li>\n <li>Regularly talk or hear</li>\n <li>Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl</li>\n <li>Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds</li>\n <li>Vision abilities include distance, depth perception and ability to adjust focus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions </li>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles</li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually moderate</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>H&K </strong>provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
