The company is a member of the S&amp;P 500 Index and the S&amp;P 500 Dividend Aristocrats, was named one of the best companies to work for by U.S. News &amp; World Report, one of America’s most responsible companies by Newsweek, recognized by TIME magazine as one of the World’s Best Companies and has received numerous other awards and accolades for its corporate responsibility and community service efforts. &nbsp;For more information, visit <a href=\"http://www.hormelfoods.com\">hormelfoods.com</a>.</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>This position supervises plant engineering and other technical staff assigned to the Swiss America Sausage Company in Lathrop, CA.</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span>Manages the installation and care of plant physical assets (building and equipment) so that the lifetime value of the Company's investment in these assets is optimized.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Manages the technical and professional development of all assigned staff.&nbsp; Working in conjunction with Corporate Engineering, the Manager of Plant Engineering participates in the recruitment, selection, coaching, appraisal, and development of engineering and maintenance personnel.</span></li><li><span>Utilizes the Company's Enterprise Asset Management System (Infor EAMS) and supports its use as a key management information tool.</span></li><li><span>Prepares budgets and implementation plans for maintenance, repair, capital, and reliability improvement expenditures (including the identification and management of necessary outside resources as appropriate).&nbsp; The Manager of Plant Engineering is accountable for adherence to various expense and capital budgets as assigned.</span></li><li><span>Works closely with all plant management and other plant personnel to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, codes, and regulations as well as internal Company policies.</span></li><li><span>Directs the operation and maintenance of all plant utilities systems, leads plant energy management efforts, directs the PSM plan and supports Sustainability initiatives for the facility.</span></li><li><span>Directs the efficient operation and utilization of the Plant MRO Storeroom.</span></li><li><span>Provides engineering input and oversight of plant / facility protection programs including regular inspection of buildings, fire protection systems, and security equipment.</span></li><li><span>Effectively manages and controls costs associated with the use of outside contractors.&nbsp; Adheres to contractor compliance with security, food safety and people safety policies.</span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><p><u>Required</u></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span>A strong pattern of initiative.</span></li><li><span>Highly developed leadership and teamwork skills.</span></li><li><span>Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.</span></li><li><span>Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.</span></li><li><span>Excellent organizational, and project management skills.</span></li><li><span>Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.</span></li><li><span>Ability to prioritize and balance many tasks simultaneously.</span></li><li><span>Strong working knowledge of basic computer applications with the ability to master EAMS software.</span></li><li><span>Previously obtained CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or ability to achieve certification in 18 months or less.</span></li><li>Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.</li><li>Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.</li></ul><p><u>Preferred</u></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span>Minimum five years’ experience in a Manager of Engineering or similar role.</span></li><li><span>A bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field.</span></li><li><span>Successful completion of one week ammonia refrigeration training with CARO certification.</span></li><li><p><span>Successful completion of Dale Carnegie 36-hour leadership/speaking training course.</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>LOCATION/SHIFT:</strong>&nbsp;Lathrop, CA</p><ul><li><p>Day shift: 5:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday, weekends as needed</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Relocation is offered to eligible candidates.</p></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>BENEFITS:&nbsp;</strong>Hormel Foods offers an excellent benefits package.
