    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Belt Technician works directly with the Belt Supervisor on the installation and recovery of all conveyor belting, structure and drives required on the surface and underground. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, any one of the following assigned areas:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Installation and maintenance of conveyor belts, feeders, belt drives, take-ups and fire prevention equipment and firefighting apparatus. </li>\n <li>Recover, inventory and have prepared belt equipment needed for next belt installation. </li>\n <li>Perform daily and weekly checks. </li>\n <li>Works closely with maintenance to maintain availability of equipment.</li>\n <li>Follow all safe work procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>N/A</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties in assigned area in a satisfactory fashion. REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education/Experience</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED preferred.</li>\n <li>First Class Papers (12 months experience, Certificate of Mine Competency) required</li>\n <li>2 year Associate's degree in coal mining or related technical field or Coal Mining Certificate from an accredited college with equivalent experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Must successfully complete applicable pre-employment testing</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Certification/Licensure</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Mine Examiners papers preferred.</li>\n <li>Valid MSHA electrical card preferred.</li>\n <li>Emergency Medical Training is preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge of</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Thorough knowledge of all underground mining practices, equipment and procedures.</li>\n <li>Thorough knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations governing the mining of coal.</li>\n <li>Knowledge and ability to make decisions relative to production, maintenance, law and safety. </li>\n <li>Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rules.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills, abilities and physical requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers, supervisors and others.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and understand mine plans.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).</li>\n <li>Ability to work any assigned shift, including evenings and weekends.</li>\n <li>Ability to work overtime as required.</li>\n <li>Ability to work unsupervised as required.</li>\n <li>Physical Requirements:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Stand for 5 to 10 hours on uneven rocky surfaces</li>\n   <li>Be seated for up to 10 hours to operate equipment or vehicles.</li>\n   <li>Walk for up to four hours at a time in uneven and wet conditions through sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom.</li>\n   <li>Lift up to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance.</li>\n   <li>Ability to do overhead work.</li>\n   <li>Work from elevated positions, walk or climb up and down stairways and ladders and climb on and off of equipment and must be able to bend or stoop for a full shift as a result of the mine height.</li>\n   <li>Don and wear required safety equipment including SCSR, respirators, hearing and eye protection, and protective clothing.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em><u>Work Environment</u></em></strong></p>\n<p>The characteristics listed herein describe the work environment the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this employment position. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this role is between <strong>$ 29.00 per hour and $43.43 per hour</strong>. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition, this position is eligible to participate in the Company’s monthly incentive program. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Employees are also eligible to receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement savings plan with Company match, life and disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
