About the Role:
The CT Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging team by performing computed tomography (CT) scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires the technologist to operate advanced CT imaging equipment with precision and care, ensuring high-quality images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The technologist collaborates closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to accurately capture images that are essential for clinical decision-making. Additionally, the role involves maintaining detailed patient records, adhering to regulatory standards, and continuously updating technical knowledge to keep pace with evolving imaging technologies. Ultimately, the CT Technologist contributes significantly to patient care by providing accurate diagnostic information that supports effective treatment plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Certification as a CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent. Valid state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Oklahoma. Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging procedures, radiation safety, and patient care standards. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting. Experience with digital imaging systems and EMR platforms. Experience with pediatric or trauma imaging protocols. Responsibilities:
Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Operate CT scanners to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to prescribed protocols and physician instructions. Review images for clarity and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic results. Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to discuss imaging results and provide technical expertise. Document patient information, imaging procedures, and any observations accurately in medical records. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and infection control protocols to protect patients, staff, and self. Skills:
The CT Technologist utilizes technical skills daily to operate complex imaging equipment and adjust scanning parameters to produce clear, diagnostic-quality images. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for explaining procedures to patients, alleviating their concerns, and ensuring cooperation during scans.
