    "description": "<h2>Position Scope</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Scope</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>NACG are seeking an experienced <strong>Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) with Service Truck (Partial or Direct Service Provider)</strong> to join our us at our Acheson Shop. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For this role, NACG offers very competitive industry wages for our service provider positions!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You'll Be Doing </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete repairs on CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi equipment of all sizes.</li>\n <li>Work closely with peers in both maintenance and operations.</li>\n <li>Solve problems from troubleshooting to diagnosis to repair.</li>\n <li>Trouble shooting systems – example: hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repair.</li>\n <li>Mobilization of equipment for maintenance and repair.</li>\n <li>Develop work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repaired.</li>\n <li>Order parts for servicing, complete reports and fill out work orders.</li>\n <li>Teach and evaluate apprentices and mentor Mechanics.</li>\n <li>Follow NACG codes of practice and Safe Operating Procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What Makes You the One </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A valid Alberta Journeyman Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Off Road).</li>\n <li>Minimum 3 years’ experience post Journeyman certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators.</li>\n <li>Must have 3 or more years of field experience.</li>\n <li>Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities.</li>\n <li>Capable of working with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Exhibit professional work behaviors.</li>\n <li>Experience with Cat SIS is an asset.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of computer applications.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate leadership skills in daily work interaction.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Truck Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current CVIP and Picker Inspection.</li>\n <li>Oxygen/acetylene cabinets that meet OH&S requirements.</li>\n <li>Full complement of tools for repairing Off Road Equipment.</li>\n <li>$5 million liability insurance</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Summary</h2>\n<p>All successful candidates must:</p>\n<li>Be proficient in English, both verbally and written</li>\n<li>Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License</li>\n<li>Have experience as requested as mentioned above</li>\n<li>Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites</li>\n<li>Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:</li>\n<ul>\n <li>Breath Alcohol Test</li>\n <li>Urine Drug Test</li>\n <li>Fitness-to-Work Assessment</li>\n <li>Audiometric Testing</li>\n <li>Vision Screening</li>\n <li>Criminal Record Check</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All successful candidates <strong>MUST</strong> provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:</p>\n<li>Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License</li>\n<li>Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract</li>\n<li>VOID cheque/direct deposit form</li>\n<p>Once dispatched the following processes will occur:</p>\n<li>Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing</li>\n<li>An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out</li>\n<li>After all results are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site specific details.</li>\n<p><strong><em>Please note the entire On-boarding process can take anywhere from 3-8 business days.</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE, SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED VIA PHONE OR EMAIL.</strong></p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>North American Construction Group (NACG) has served as an industry leader in the heavy construction and mining industries for over 65 years.
