    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Responsible for assisting the physician in patient treatment issues, providing direct patient care, and maintaining proper standards of care. Performs patient check out procedures, schedules follow up and/or referral visits and collects deductibles and co-pays.  Assists physicians and resident physicians when completing physical examinations.  Obtains laboratory specimens and prepares them for transport. Provides clerical support and maintains systematic initiation and follow up of scheduled events.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment of patients of the clinic. </li>\n <li>Must follow and enforce accepted Safety practices for patients and Hospital.</li>\n <li>Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.</li>\n <li>Must participate in safety instructional programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the essential functions of this position as identified, and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong>  High School Diploma or GED equivalent.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience: </strong> Six months to one year of physician office experience preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licenses/Certificates: </strong> Certified Medical Assistant preferred.</p>\n<h2>About Us</h2>\n<p><strong>DeKalb Regional Medical Center</strong> celebrated its 35th anniversary in October 2021.
