About the Job : A Service Technician Diesel I is responsible for performing basic maintenance and service on diesel engines and related components. This role may involve diagnosing issues, conducting inspections, servicing equipment, and completing necessary repairs. Service Technicians Diesel I typically work in a variety of settings, such as construction sites or shops. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important qualities for individuals in this role. What You'll Do : Basic understanding of service intervals. Locate fluid types, capacities, and special instructions in manufacturer's digital service manual. Service, grease, lube all mobile equipment. Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary. Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Other Requirements: Ability to work overtime and extended hours including weekend depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises. Must have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses and maintenance. Subject matter expert and ability to apply knowledge and experience in situations. Must have Valid driver's license. Critical Competencies: Communication - Ability to clearly and effectively convey information, ideas, and messages to others in both written and verbal formats; can express one's thoughts clearly but also demonstrate active listening, understands the needs of the audience, and adapts the message to ensure it is understood. Safety Awareness - Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace; proactive in identifying potential hazards, taking steps to mitigate risks, and ensuring that both personal and collective safety are maintained in all tasks and environments. Attention to Detail - Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks, ensuring that no aspects or elements are overlooked; meticulous and precise when handling information, performing tasks, or delivering work, and is critical in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the results. Collaboration - Ability to work effectively with others to achieve common goals by fostering teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect. It involves actively listening, sharing ideas, problem-solving collectively, and leveraging diverse skills and perspectives. Strong collaboration requires adaptability, conflict resolution, and a willingness to support team members, ensuring productivity and a positive work environment.
