Description
The Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our office space. This role is responsible for creating a pleasant and safe environment for our employees and visitors, ensuring a positive and professional impression. The Porter will work closely with the Facilities team to execute daily cleaning tasks and special projects, contributing to a well-maintained and organized workplace.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of restrooms and pantries, ensuring adequate supplies are available. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly to maintain a hygienic environment. Sweep and dust mop hallways, keeping them free of debris and ensuring a safe walking surface. Assist in configuring conference rooms for meetings and events, setting up furniture and equipment as needed. Empty trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper waste management and tidy office space. Perform deep cleaning tasks assigned, such as vacuuming carpets, wiping down surfaces, and sanitizing common areas. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities team promptly. Follow health and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with colleagues and visitors. Other related tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in a similar role, such as a janitorial or housekeeping position, is an asset. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach when interacting with colleagues and visitors. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, as needed. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe handling. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. A positive and proactive attitude, with a desire to contribute to a clean and organized workplace.
