    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a <strong>Polysomnographic Technologist</strong>, sometimes referred to as our Sleep Lab Tech, Sleep Technologist or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) in our Sleep Laboratory department. The Polysomnographic Technologist (or Sleep Technologist) is a specialized healthcare professional who conducts and analyzes sleep studies to diagnose and monitor patients with sleep disorders. Polysomnographic Techs identify conditions such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movement disorder, insomnia, and REM behavior disorder. This position is on a per diem basis, PD/PRN, meaning as needed. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Shift’s Available:</strong>  Nights</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full time</p>\n<p><strong>Hours:</strong> 12-hour shift</p>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:</em></strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Health, dental, and vision insurance options </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Paid vacation, sick time and holidays </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Bereavement leave, FMLA and other leave options </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Employer 401K options </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement options  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Life, disability, and other insurance options </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Many other amazing benefits </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare the sleep lab or hospital room, review patient history and orders, and educate patients on the sleep study process </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Apply sensors to monitor brain, heart, muscle, eye, and respiratory activity while ensuring patient safety and data quality </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Observe and respond to sleep-related events such as apneas, oxygen desaturations, or abnormal cardiac activity during the study </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Record and score sleep stages and respiratory events, using software tools to prepare data for physician interpretation </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Initiate and adjust CPAP, BiPAP, or ASV therapy as needed and troubleshoot equipment or patient concerns during the study </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with the care team and educate patients on sleep disorders, home testing, and positive airway pressure therapy compliance </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education and Work Experience</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current</li>\n <li>Completion of American Academy of Sleep Medicine A-STEP program with eligibility to set for board certification or registry; graduate of an accredited polysomnography program or enrolled in the last semester of an accredited polysomnograpy program to qualify as a student technician</li>\n <li>If a recent graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program, must obtain certification or registry within 6 months of hire date; or for completion of the AASM A-STEP program must obtain certification or registry within 6 months of program completion</li>\n <li>For student Polysomnography Technicians, must obtain certification or registry within 6 months of graduation date from accredited program.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Eligible for registry through the BRPT</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1 year technical experience working in a sleep lab/center</li>\n <li>Experience scoring sleep studies</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: https://www.primehealthcare.com/careers/benefits/  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#LI-MP1</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Employment Status</h2>Full Time\n<h2>Shift</h2>Nights\n<h2>Equal Employment Opportunity</h2>\n<p>Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
