While also being responsible for safely transporting and assisting residents using company vehicles for admissions, medical appointments, and facility transfers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p>\n<li>Assists with and performs assigned duties related to electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry (including furniture refinishing or repair); mechanics (including equipment and mechanical systems); heating, cooling and water systems (except those services performed under service contract with outside contractors).</li>\n<li>Assists with and perform duties related to maintenance of grounds, parking lots, and driveways (including snow/ice removal, except those performed under service contract).</li>\n<li>Handles incoming and outgoing freight, as needed; lifts and moves heavy furniture and equipment.</li>\n<li>Observes residents' rights and treats all residents with courtesy, respect and kindness.</li>\n<li>Drives company vehicle as needed/requested.</li>\n<li>Arrives to work on time, regularly, and work as scheduled; responsible for own transportation.</li>\n<li>Observes and practices confidentiality of resident information and privacy when performing job duties.</li>\n<li>Attends facility meetings, staff meetings, and required or preferred inservices.</li>\n<li>Generates and develops ideas which improve the quality of care for residents or increase position productivity and satisfaction.</li>\n<li>Performs all position duties according to safety rules and standards of practice required for this position, and as required to ensure the general safety of staff, residents and visitors of this facility.</li>\n<li>Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to reference them.</li>\n<li>Exhibits the highest level of customer service towards residents, staff and visitors.</li>\n<li>Consistently demonstrates the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.</li>\n<li>As directed, takes calls on off hours (i.e. evening and weekend) and adjusts schedule to meet the needs of the facility.</li>\n<li>Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.</li>\n<li>Recognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.</li>\n<li>Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.</li>\n<li>Supports and abides by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.</li>\n<li>Abides by Elderwood’s businesses code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policies.</li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.</li>\n<p><strong>Skills/Competencies</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Exceptional customer service skills</li>\n <li>Strong oral and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Basic reading and writing skills</li>\n <li>Proficient in safety protocols, applicable regulations, and personal protective equipment (PPE)</li>\n <li>Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision</li>\n <li>Demonstrates strong integrity and work ethic</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>From</h2>\n<h2>Up to</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 18 years of age </li>\n <li>Minimum one (1) year of related work experience in field such as maintenance, carpentry, contracting, etc. </li>\n <li>Current, valid driver license </li>\n <li>Participation in facility on-call program which may include working “off-hours” </li>\n <li>Experienced in equipment operation such as small hand tools, electric tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, etc. </li>\n <li> HS diploma or equivalent preferred </li>\n <li>Display of genuine concern for the elderly; a dependable, patient and compassionate attitude towards residents</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
