    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Title:</span> Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports To:</span> Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) / Director of Special Education / Clinical Supervisor<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">FLSA Status:</span> Non-Exempt or Exempt (depending on setting)</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary:</span><br>The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to help implement therapy plans for individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders. The SLPA supports therapy activities, collects data, and assists in preparing materials, helping clients achieve their communication goals in academic, clinical, or community settings.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement speech and language therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP.</li>\n<li>Work with individuals or small groups to target communication goals.</li>\n<li>Prepare and organize therapy materials and activities.</li>\n<li>Collect and record accurate data on client performance and progress.</li>\n<li>Report changes in performance or concerns to the supervising SLP.</li>\n<li>Support carryover of therapy techniques into classroom or daily routines.</li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality and comply with district, state, and federal regulations.</li>\n<li>Assist in maintaining equipment, therapy spaces, and materials.</li>\n<li>Participate in professional development and training sessions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">or</span> completion of a state-approved SLPA program.</li>\n<li>State licensure or registration as an SLPA in Illinois (or applicable state).</li>\n<li>Strong communication and organizational skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to follow treatment plans and work under the direction of an SLP.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in school-based, pediatric, or clinical settings.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of early language development and evidence-based intervention strategies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>School, clinic, hospital, or home-based setting depending on placement.</li>\n<li>May require travel between locations.</li>\n<li>Position may involve sitting on the floor, kneeling, or moving equipment.</li>\n</ul>",
