Company Profile: Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B) manages the 10-year, $2.1 billion Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Environmental Management, Los Alamos Field Office. N3B is a limited liability company owned by HII Nuclear Inc. and BWX Technologies, joined by our critical subcontractors Longenecker and Associates and Tech2 Solutions. N3B brings operational discipline, proven approaches and predictable results to the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract. Position Location: This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Los Alamos is a tight-knit mountain community that consistently ranks as one of Livability.com’s Best Small Towns in America. The city is a top spot for outdoor enthusiasts as it has more than 120 hiking and biking trails, and residents enjoy easy access to the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. Thanks to the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos’ presence in the area, Los Alamos also has a college-town vibe that’s a major draw for young professionals, families and retirees. Position Summary The Work Week Manager (WWM) ensures scheduled work activities are planned, coordinated, and executed in a safe and efficient manner. Work Week Managers are also responsible for monitoring and reporting schedule performance during the execution week (work week),and reviewing it for continuous improvement opportunities (Work Week Assessment). The Work Week Assessment is a feedback mechanism for Integrated Safety Management. The WWM coordinates and oversees work preparation activities, to ensure that scheduled activities are task ready for the planned lock-in period. WWM's utilize a rolling schedule concept to forecast activities several weeks ahead of time. The WWM follows-up on all preparation activities to ensure the scope is adequately defined and work documents prepared to support the lock-in week. Task readiness includes, but is not limited to, Work Requests, Work Tasks, parts/material, hazard screening/analysis, prerequisites, and support groups. Once the workweek is locked-in, the assigned WWM oversees the work execution, resolves issues/obstacles impeding work progress, and prepares a Work Week Assessment at the conclusion of the execution week/period. This position reports to the N3B Integrated Work Control Manager. Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to): With assistance, using a rolling schedule concept, follow assigned work week(s) to ensure task readiness of scheduled work activities. Interface with Shift Operations Manager (SOM), Maintenance Manager, Project Managers, and schedulers to ensure new work week contains appropriate activities. Interface with Engineers/Planners and Work Groups to ensure out weeks have appropriate schedule logic and adequate detail. Coordinate with Engineers/Planners, Procurement, and support groups to ensure planning weeks progress in a manner to support Task Readiness (package, materials, lockouts, special equipment, permits, resources, etc.). Coordinate with work groups and support groups to ensure resources are appropriately understood and loaded into the schedule. Participate in the review of work documents, procedures, pre-requisites, material, etc., to ensure scope of work and resources are understood in order to prepare for the execution week (T-2). Participate in Lock-in Meeting for assigned work weeks, resolving issues/conflicts prior to the meeting. Assist the scheduling and coordinating all work activities in execution week (T-0). With assistance confirm activities are working as scheduled, and resolve issues/conflicts resulting in work delays. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Level 3 Competent knowledge of and experience with facility management including systems maintenance, safety, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, and upgrades and renovations. Competent understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration. Competent knowledge of Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) implementation, and OSHA requirements for safe work performance. Able to adapt procedures, tools and/or equipment to meet specialist needs. Able to perform duties and tasks that are varied and complex. Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues. Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook) required. Able to develop approaches for new or improved processes. Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine the best way to accomplish tasks. Able to lead certain aspects of a task or project. Must be able to complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position.
