This role is a key part of the North Louisiana/Arkansas (NLAR) Region Team in Weyerhaeuser’s Southern Timberlands Business and reports to the Harvesting & Transportation Manager. This is a strategy and execution-focused position located at the Southern Timberlands office in Winnfield, LA. The role is a combination of field and office work, with some overnight travel required for off-site meetings (10%). Background: Key responsibilities include managing the activities between dispatchers, hauling contractors, logging contractors and the linkages to service the NLAR Raw Material Delivery System. This position is located in Winnfield, LA. and the position will be responsible for the successful development and ongoing operations of the NLAR Transportation (centrally dispatched haul) System. Key Functions: Promote safety in all aspects of the working environment. Finding, onboarding, and contracting adequate trucking capacity to execute harvest and satisfy customer needs Negotiation of transportation contracts and implementation of pricing guidelines Monitoring of trucking contractor performance (including safety & production) with prompt attention given to noncompliance and performance issues Engagement with Wood Flow to ensure full utilization of trucking capacity to optimize margin within the harvest schedule Utilization of logistic tools for increased efficiency of trucking systems Ability to prepare weekly and monthly reports, analyze key performance metrics, and develop action plans to improve or sustain results Responsibility for management, development, and growth of Harvest Logistics Planners Manage and prepare weekly fleet invoices for payment and maintain key performance indicators.
