Description The Division of Science and Math is seeking work-study students to support the Specialty Gardens Coordinator in the LCCC Specialty Gardens. Students will work to maintain the Specialty Gardens and contribute towards the Master Landscape Design, “a Campus in a Garden”. Students will assist with various tasks, including research, design, weeding, planting, laying mulch, other garden maintenance, problem-solving, greenhouse maintenance, lightweight construction, marketing and promotion, and scientific observation. Candidates must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at LCCC, enrolled in a program of study of at least two semesters in length, and be Pell-grant eligible. Candidates must be able to perform a variety of tasks both independently and as a team, listen and follow instructions well, and participate in discussions. Upon instruction and experience, students should be able to complete various tasks without supervision. Candidates must be energetic, reliable, punctual, professional, communicative, and passionate about natural systems. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
