    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>Position Summary</u></strong></p><p>The Senior Director of Revenue and Cost Accounting will play a critical role in scaling processes, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the Company&rsquo;s continued commercial growth. This position will have periodic meetings in the Parsippany, NJ headquarters and will be reporting to the Vice President, Finance, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer.&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Primary Responsibilities&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Lead the end-to-end revenue accounting process, including product sales, licensing, and collaboration arrangements, as applicable</li><li>Ensure accurate application of ASC 606 across all revenue streams</li><li>Oversee gross-to-net (GTN) estimates, including rebates, chargebacks, returns, copay assistance, and distribution fees</li><li>Oversee and manage external G2N consultants, including scope definition and deliverables, review and challenge of assumptions and methodologies, performance monitoring, and cost management</li><li>Ensure alignment between internal teams and external partners on data inputs, assumptions, and reporting outputs</li><li>Partner with Market Access and Commercial teams as well as external consultants to analyze trends and refine GTN assumptions and projections</li><li>Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics</li><li>Oversee all aspects of inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)</li><li>Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, including inventory costing, variance analysis, and inventory reserves (e.g., excess and obsolete assessments)</li><li>Own average cost development, updates, and variance analysis across products and manufacturing sites</li><li>Partner with Manufacturing &amp; Supply Chain to analyze cost drivers and improve gross margins</li><li>Support procurement, forecasting, and budgeting processes related to inventory and COGS</li><li>Make final decisions on cost accounting implementations and drive continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>Ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements, including design and execution of internal controls over revenue and inventory</li><li>Maintain robust documentation of accounting policies and procedures</li></ul><p><strong><u>Competencies&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Deep expertise in ASC 606 and GTN accounting, as well as inventory and COGS accounting, in a commercial environment</li><li>Advanced proficiency in financial systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or similar) and Excel</li><li>Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls</li><li>Deep expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, including weighted average costing, inventory accounting, and cost forecasting</li><li>Ability to work with external auditors and internal SOX teams</li><li>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, commercial-stage environment</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills</li><li>Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders</li><li>Strategic thinking skills with strong technical accounting expertise</li><li>Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy</li><li>Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li></ul><p><strong><u>Experience</u></strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Accounting or Finance-related field; CPA strongly preferred</li><li>12 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant focus on revenue recognition and inventory costing</li><li>Prior experience in a public company and life sciences/biotech or pharmaceutical industry required</li><li>Experience in product launches and global expansion, strongly preferred</li><li>Experience supporting SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q)</li><li>Strong previous CMC experience working closely with manufacturing teams within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry</li><li>Proven experience managing external consultants or outsourced service providers, preferably in GTN</li><li>Modeling of Bill of Materials and inventory forecasting experience</li></ul><p>EEO Statement:&nbsp;</p><p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.<em>&nbsp;</em></p><p>Benefit Statement:</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">All regular-status, full-time employees of Geron are eligible to participate in the Company&rsquo;s comprehensive benefit program, pursuant to plan terms and conditions.
