    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>CVP is seeking Registered Nurses to join our team in providing our Nation's Veterans with long-term care services at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center-Fort Thomas. The RN will utilize their broad based clinical knowledge to effectively assess, implement health promotion and prevention interventions, manage acute and chronic illness states, assist patient/residents in the attainment of optimal levels of functioning rehabilitation, and evaluate patient/resident response to actual or potential health problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have full time, part-time and PRN contract opportunities available.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Utilize the nursing process in managing, developing, implementing, and evaluating each resident's individual plan of care with the interdisciplinary team to attain specific clinical outcomes</li>\n <li>Provide a full range of nursing care to residents with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems</li>\n <li>Demonstrate leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others</li>\n <li>Maintain patient/resident confidentiality and a safe patient/resident care environment</li>\n <li>Assess and act on significant changes in the patient's/resident's health condition</li>\n <li>Collect and document pertinent data into the electronic patient/resident medical record using designated templates</li>\n <li>Complete nursing assessments within required time frames and in accordance with policy and procedure</li>\n <li>Meet the health care needs of patients/residents by assessing and assisting them to meet expressed needs</li>\n <li>Prioritize and complete tasks within the assigned shift</li>\n <li>Update patient/resident care plans and notify assigned physician of any changes in condition</li>\n <li>Practice the VA core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE)</li>\n <li>Document patient progress and chart the patient's response to medications and treatments</li>\n <li>Perform wound care including dressing changes (sterile and non-sterile) and obtaining wound cultures as necessary</li>\n <li>Provide care for tracheostomies, central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, and catheters as needed</li>\n <li>Perform fall risk assessments and skin assessments (Braden Scale) to identify and prevent injuries</li>\n <li>Complete required documentation within established timeframes</li>\n <li>Participate in quality improvement activities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to pass a government background investigation (US Citizenship required)</li>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing required</li>\n <li>Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia</li>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association</li>\n <li>2+ years providing Geriatric, Community Living or Long Term Care</li>\n <li>Technical proficiency including strong computer skills and ability to learn VA electronic medical record systems</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Location </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Cincinnati VA Medical Center-Fort Thomas, 1000 South Fort Thomas Ave, Fort Thomas, KY </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About CVP</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
