Description

Dean – School of Business Position Requires Relocation to Kuwait This position accepts unaccompanied candidates only. Classification: Executive / Academic Leadership Reports To: Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Job Purpose The Dean of the School of Business provides strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to deliver high-quality business education at AIU. The Dean will shape curricula, foster faculty development and research, build industry partnerships, and guide the School through accreditation and growth as part of AIU’s evolving academic portfolio. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and management for the School of Business, including oversight of full-time and adjunct faculty, academic programs, and administrative operations. Lead curriculum development, course scheduling, program assessment, and continuous improvement of degree offerings to ensure academic excellence and market relevance. Manage the School’s budget, resource allocation, and strategic planning. Drive faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance review, and professional development. Promote a culture of research and scholarship across the School; support faculty and student research activities. Maintain and engage the Business Advisory Committee to align programs with industry needs and employer expectations. Lead and coordinate accreditation efforts and quality assurance activities (institutional and programmatic), including familiarity with American accreditation frameworks and specialized systems such as AACSB. Ensure the School’s website and public communications accurately reflect programs, achievements, and student opportunities. Foster industry and community partnerships, internships, and experiential learning opportunities for students. Represent the School in university leadership meetings and contribute to institution-wide strategic initiatives. Reporting Departments (If Applicable) Full-time and adjunct faculty in the School of Business Administrative and program support staff Required Skills and Qualifications Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop academic programs and lead accreditation efforts. Experience working with industry partners and advisory boards. Commitment to student success, curriculum innovation, and scholarly activity. Effective budgetary and resource management skills. Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment and collaborate across teams. Education and Experience Master of Business Administration required; recent PhD graduates are encouraged to apply. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education (teaching, research, or academic administration) or relevant professional experience; demonstrated leadership experience preferred. Experience with accreditation processes (institutional and/or specialized) is highly desirable.
