Learn more about the opportunities we create at bowvalleycollege.ca.  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p>Faculty in the School of Health and Wellness are responsible for providing instruction to learners; evaluating learner progress, contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials, and supporting learners in meeting the learning outcomes of their courses and programs.</p>\n<p><br>Candidates must be committed to effective teaching and demonstrate the ability to teach courses within the field of health care instruction in a broad range of settings.  This includes but is not limited to teaching face to face; on-line; simulated nursing practice areas, in blended delivery settings; synchronously via MS Teams, and in clinical settings.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Provides Quality Instruction in Courses as Assigned</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Instructs courses as assigned (lab and/or clinical, primarily).</li>\n<li>Selects instructional strategies to meet learner needs.</li>\n<li>Creates lesson plans.</li>\n<li>Supports development and updating of curriculum, guides and rubrics as requested.</li>\n<li>Evaluates learner performance on an ongoing basis and provides learners and administrators with learner progress reports.</li>\n<li>Maintains official records as required.</li>\n<li>Facilitates learning within variety of settings.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Provides Quality Instruction in Courses as Assigned</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Instructs courses as assigned (lab and/or clinical, primarily).</li>\n<li>Selects instructional strategies to meet learner needs. Creates lesson plans.</li>\n<li> Supports development and updating of curriculum, guides and rubrics as requested.</li>\n<li>Evaluates learner performance on an ongoing basis and provides learners and administrators with learner progress reports.</li>\n<li>Maintains official records as required.</li>\n<li>Facilitates learning within variety of settings.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Builds and Maintains Relationship with Internal and External Stakeholders and promote the Department and the College</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeps current regarding changes in best practice and adapts facilitation as required.</li>\n<li>Assists with articulation and transfer activity for learners as required.</li>\n<li>Meets with industry stakeholders and sit on Advisory Committees as required.</li>\n<li>Attends external community meetings.</li>\n<li>Participates in recruitment events as schedule permits.</li>\n<li>Maintains a networking relationship with employers of Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required qualifications:</span> <br>•    Diploma in Nursing<br>•    LPN or RN<br>•    Meets government Practical Nurse facilitator requirements <br>•    4 years of current nursing experience in acute care<br>•    CLPNA or CARNA Practice Permit without restriction<br>•    CPR Health Care Provider Level<br>•    Up to date immunization records<br>•    Police Information Check including a vulnerable sector<br>•    Ability to work to full scope of practice<br>•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered<br>•    If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire</p>\n<p><br>This opening is a casual Faculty position.
