    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Operations Reporting Analyst</strong></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Operations Reporting Analyst</strong> is a key contributor to the North American Business Assurance Finance team - located in Kentwood, MI - responsible for delivering high-impact financial and operational insights that support strategic and day-to-day decision-making. This role acts as a trusted business partner across finance, operations, and commercial teams, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Intertek's Business Assurance team goes beyond testing, inspection and certification to look at the underlying elements that make a company and its products successful. Our assurance solutions provide confidence and total peace of mind that a client's operating procedures, systems and people are functioning properly to provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reporting to the Director, Finance, this position requires a demonstrated ability to independently design, build, and improve financial and business data models—not just analyze outputs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of using data to drive tangible process improvements, performance visibility, and business outcomes, while operating effectively with minimal oversight in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Business Partnering &amp; Stakeholder Engagement</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Serve as a trusted finance business partner to Business Assurance operational and commercial leaders</li><li>Build strong relationships across functions to understand business drivers, challenges, and priorities</li><li>Clearly communicate complex financial and data insights to non-finance stakeholders</li><li>Influence decision-making through fact-based recommendations and scenario analysis</li><li>Support leadership with ad hoc analysis, presentations, and strategic insights</li></ul><p><strong>Financial Analysis &amp; Data Modeling</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Design, build, and maintain complex financial and operational data models used for forecasting, performance management, and decision support</li><li>Analyze revenue, margin, cost drivers, productivity, and operational efficiency</li><li>Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes</li><li>Perform variance analysis and root-cause investigations, translating findings into actionable solutions</li><li>Ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment across multiple systems and data sources</li></ul><p><strong>Proven Impact &amp; Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Demonstrate a track record of delivering measurable improvements through data (e.g., improved forecasting accuracy, enhanced reporting, cost savings, efficiency gains)</li><li>Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within existing data, reporting, or processes</li><li>Lead enhancements to financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools</li><li>Support automation, standardization, and simplification initiatives to improve scalability and reliability</li><li>Document assumptions, methodologies, and outcomes to ensure sustainability of improvements</li></ul><p><strong>Independent Execution &amp; Problem Solving</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Independently manage analytical workstreams from problem definition through delivery</li><li>Navigate ambiguity and incomplete information using structured problem-solving approaches</li><li>Prioritize competing requests while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality</li><li>Exercise sound judgment with limited direction, escalating issues appropriately when required</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field</li><li>3–6 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, business analytics, or FP&amp;A</li><li>Demonstrated experience building and improving financial or operational data models</li><li>Proven ability to translate analysis into real-world business improvements</li><li>Experience operating independently in a complex, data-driven organization</li></ul><p><strong>Technical &amp; Analytical Skills</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, large datasets, pivot tables, Power Query)</li><li>Experience working with large, multi-source data models</li><li>Familiarity with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or similar)</li><li>Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical-thinking skills</li><li>Ability to synthesize complex data into concise, executive-level insights</li></ul><p><strong>Soft Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority</li><li>High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Experience in professional services, assurance, testing, inspection, or certification industries</li><li>Exposure to North American multi-entity or multi-currency environments</li><li>Experience supporting senior leadership with strategic and operational financial analysis</li></ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><span><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></span></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p>Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
