Ability to fabricate a variety of precision parts and components used in test fixtures, specialty tools, and R&D prototype instruments. Assembles and assists in building engineering models and prototypes</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to read and understand engineering drawings and select proper tools and equipment in preparing machined parts.</li>\n <li>Programs CNC machines (with assistance as needed) to fabricate a variety of precision components.</li>\n <li>Program machines accordingly and adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.</li>\n <li>Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.</li>\n <li>Verify through measurements that machined parts meet the drawing specifications as needed.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot CNC programs to address issues and make improvements as needed.</li>\n <li>Assemble parts according to design layouts with brief instructions.</li>\n <li>May be asked to assist in the assembly of early instrument prototypes.</li>\n <li>Keeps tools calibrated and equipment orderly and work area clean. </li>\n <li>Maintains safe operations and shall adhere to all Machine shop safety requirements, procedures, and regulations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Networking/Key Relationships</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Will interface with groups across the organization as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent with Trade School training and a minimum of 4 years experience as a machinist.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills & Capabilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and select optimum tools and processes according to required part precision levels.</li>\n <li>Familiar with programming Master Cam Lathe / Mill, 3D printer software, and Waterjet software.</li>\n <li>Familiar with Fanuc and G-Code code writing, interpretation, and manipulation</li>\n <li>Knowledge of current technologies needed for importing CAD files for conversion to CNC programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>None</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The houely range for this role is currently $31.00 to $39.00.
