Description
Overview
AIKEN, SC (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) – A warm, active, and close-knit family located near downtown Aiken is seeking a professional, flexible, and highly dependable full-time nanny to care for their two boys, ages 2 and 7. This is a dynamic household that values structure, engagement, and outdoor activity, with schools, parks, and activities conveniently nearby. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and adaptable, and thrives in a role where flexibility and initiative are essential.
The schedule requires weekday availability across mornings, afternoons, and some evenings, with occasional weekends and overnight care provided with advance notice. The family offers a guaranteed 35-hour work week averaged over a two-week period (Monday through Sunday), though weekly schedules may vary. Flexibility is key, as the schedule will shift based on school, activities, and seasonal needs, including summer camp schedules. The candidate must also be open to traveling with the family to a secondary residence located a few hours away.
Primary responsibilities include full child-related care such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and supervision, as well as managing school and activity drop-offs and pickups. The nanny will plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that support development, including educational, creative, and outdoor play, and provide reading support and homework assistance. Additional responsibilities include light meal preparation, family laundry, light housekeeping such as tidying and dishwasher maintenance, household organization, errands including grocery shopping, and coordinating activities and outings. This is not a deep-cleaning role, as the family has a housekeeper present one to two times per week.
The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, kind, and an excellent communicator. They are a self-starter who takes initiative, remains calm and adaptable in a fluid environment, and is highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively. A genuine passion for working with children, along with an appreciation for structure, learning, and maintaining a positive home environment, is essential.
All candidates should hold a college education and have a minimum of three years of childcare experience with multiple children. A valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record and a reliable personal vehicle is required, along with comfort transporting children. Candidates must be competent swimmers and comfortable supervising children in a pool. Current CPR, First Aid, Tdap, and flu vaccinations are required, along with a willingness to sign an NDA and no-phone-while-driving agreement. The candidate must be a non-smoker and non-vaper and be comfortable with occasional overnight care and extended stays when parents travel.
The family offers activity and outing reimbursement, mileage reimbursement, two weeks of paid vacation (with five days aligning with the family’s schedule), and paid major holidays when they fall on a weekday. Compensation is competitive and will be offered at a minimum of $28-30 per hour gross via payroll, commensurate with experience.
