Description
About Us:
Anyon Systems is building the next generation of superconducting quantum computers. We design and operate full-stack quantum systems, from fabrication and cryogenics to control electronics, calibration, and software. What differentiates Anyon is execution speed, technical depth, and a relentless focus on making quantum hardware work in practice, not just on paper. Our Tel Aviv R&D center is a critical powerhouse driving Anyon Systems’ global quantum roadmap. Far from a traditional satellite office, this strategic hub owns the core pillars of our technology: quantum control, calibration, benchmarking, and AI-first automation. We deliberately anchored this team in Israel to leverage the ecosystem’s unmatched pedigree in deep-tech execution, defense-grade engineering, and rigorous applied research. As a member of this team, you will operate with complete autonomy and high agency, directly shaping the flagship products deployed to our customers worldwide.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Quantum Control Engineer, you will design and optimize pulse-level control and calibration techniques for superconducting qubits. This is a hands-on role suited for engineers and physicists who enjoy working closely with hardware and taking responsibility for system-level performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimize microwave pulse sequences for single- and two-qubit gates - Develop robust calibration routines resilient to drift and noise
Build physics-based models of qubit dynamics and control errors
Work closely with FPGA engineers to deploy real-time control solutions - Collaborate with AI researchers to enable closed-loop calibration
Qualifications:
MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Strong background in quantum control or experimental quantum computing - Proficiency in Python and scientific computing tools
Experience with superconducting qubits is strongly preferred
What We Offer:
A core technical role in a fast-growing quantum hardware company
Direct access to real, state-of-the-art quantum processors
High level of autonomy and technical ownership
Collaboration with world-class experimental, theoretical, and AI teams across North America and Israel
Competitive compensation aligned with senior deep-tech roles in Israel - Long-term equity participation
Flexible work culture with strong emphasis on results, not bureaucracy - Opportunity to influence the technical direction of the company
Security / Defense Backgrounds : Candidates with backgrounds in defense, aerospace, intelligence, secure systems, RF, real-time systems, or classified R&D environments are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience operating complex systems under strict performance, reliability, and security constraints is highly valued.
