Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the flagship store and cafe - delivering a high-touch experience for both retail customers and trade clients (interior designers, architects, and specifiers). Spearhead our trade program. Build relationships and make the Thuma brand known in Los Angeles throughout the design community. Ensure that visual merchandising and interior design elements reflect our current products, layout and the Thuma brand aesthetic. Recruit, hire, and train a high performing team. Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and ongoing training and support. Lead, motivate and manage the team to hit in-store KPIs, including team building and effective scheduling, while fostering positive and collaborative work environment. Assume full responsibility for every aspect of the guest experience, with an emphasis on building long-term relationships with all guests including trade clients and delivering a consultative, design-oriented sales experience. Lead all team members to do the same. Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service and have a memorable in-store and cafe experience. Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner. Manage trade-specific needs such as project timelines, bulk orders, customization inquiries, and white-glove coordination. Create processes to actively share insights from both retail and trade clients, including feedback on product needs, material preferences, and specification gaps, to inform product, marketing, and merchandising strategy. Work with the Head of Retail to develop and manage budgets, monitor sales and expenses, and implement strategies to increase foot traffic and sales. Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute store promotions and events, to attract and bring potential customers into the store, engaging both local customers and tourists. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation in the cafe. Monitor and maintain the security and safety of the store and its customers. What You’ll Need 5+ Years of Retail, Interior Design, and/or Trade experience, luxury brand experience preferred A minimum of 4 years experience in Retail Leadership, Cafe experience is a plus Extensive experience and ability to lead the delivery of high level customer service Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills as well as good decision making abilities in high pressure situations Proficient in Google Suite products, Shopify experience is a plus Ability to build, lead and manage high performing teams Ability to support conflict resolution, employee coaching and counseling Physical Requirements You are able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time You are able to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
