Description

Position Summary: The Aluminum Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding aluminum components used in trailer manufacturing. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints and welding instructions, and the ability to produce quality welds while maintaining safety and production standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform MIG welding on aluminum materials according to specifications and quality standards. Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting machine settings as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and welding symbols. Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance. Prepare materials by cleaning, fitting, cutting, and positioning components prior to welding. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards. Identify quality concerns and communicate issues to leadership. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Meet production goals while maintaining quality expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Previous aluminum welding experience preferred. Experience with MIG welding required. Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions. Knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift. Preferred Skills: Trailer manufacturing experience. Experience welding aluminum structures or frames. Ability to pass a welding test. Familiarity with weld symbols and fabrication processes. Ensure your own safety by always using designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools designed and rated for the task, complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Report to work on time to support production startup and throughput goals. Operate all power tools and machinery on the weld line(s) effectively and respectfully. Read and understand work orders and work instructions. Perform quality checks and product inspections by completing final inspection sheets, as directed by assigned production supervisor. Perform daily inspections on equipment prior to shift startup to ensure the safety of you and your coworkers, as well as the operational effectiveness of equipment. Qualifications and Requirements High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities in directly job-related experiences.
