If you share our commitment to these values and want to join a team that lives them every day, Root Center might be the perfect fit for you!</p><p data-start=\"103\" data-end=\"125\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong data-start=\"103\" data-end=\"123\">Position Summary</strong></p><p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"448\">Under the direction of the Billing Manager, this individual is responsible for producing biweekly claims; processing and balancing remittance advices (Explanations of Benefits) received with payments to update the accounts receivable sub-ledgers; printing reports; and filing billing and remittance records as required.</p><p data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"493\"><strong data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"472\">Hourly Rate Range:</strong> Starting at $20.00</p><p data-start=\"495\" data-end=\"705\">Actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including education, work experience, and, in some instances, certifications. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues&rsquo; pay.</p><hr data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"710\"><p data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"737\"><strong data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"735\">Essential Functions</strong></p><p data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"842\">The responsibilities of the Claims Billing Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:</p><ul data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"2196\"><li data-section-id=\"17bmxl5\" data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"928\">Processes claims; generates claims as either paper billings or electronic files.</li><li data-section-id=\"155anb5\" data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"997\">Receives and sorts incoming payments with attention to accuracy.</li><li data-section-id=\"1bsnl2y\" data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1077\">Manages the status of accounts and balances and identifies inconsistencies.</li><li data-section-id=\"1poqovm\" data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1119\">Issues invoices, bills, and receipts.</li><li data-section-id=\"1959h6s\" data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1190\">Updates the account database with new accounts or missed payments.</li><li data-section-id=\"10xk7mn\" data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1309\">Processes remittances received from payers so that open claims are updated as paid or denied under dollar control.</li><li data-section-id=\"2j0cj4\" data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1391\">Balances remittances to ensure updated claim records equal payments received.</li><li data-section-id=\"cb33p0\" data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1495\"><strong data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1415\">Customer Service:</strong> Ensures all clients remain informed of their outstanding debts and deadlines.</li><li data-section-id=\"1uudfo8\" data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1610\">Provides assistance to clients and employees who need guidance on insurance deductibles, co-pays, or balances.</li><li data-section-id=\"rtcfg6\" data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1694\"><strong data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1625\">Mailing:</strong> Prepares mailings for paper claims or transmits electronic claims.</li><li data-section-id=\"4rn740\" data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"1772\"><strong data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"1708\">Filing:</strong> Documents duplicate payments or other off-balance conditions.</li><li data-section-id=\"xbn4w\" data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1807\">Files office copies of claims.</li><li data-section-id=\"170cvih\" data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"1970\"><strong data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1822\">Reports:</strong> Utilizes the billing system to produce reports for the accounting department on claims management, as requested by the Claims Billing Supervisor.</li><li data-section-id=\"1ppvipy\" data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"2196\"><strong data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"1993\">Confidentiality:</strong> Adheres to Root Center for Advanced Recovery&rsquo;s Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations regarding HIPAA, privacy, and security.</li></ul><hr data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2201\"><p data-start=\"2203\" data-end=\"2243\"><strong data-start=\"2203\" data-end=\"2241\">Minimum Qualification Requirements</strong></p><p data-start=\"2245\" data-end=\"2451\">An Associate&rsquo;s degree in accounting or a related field and two (2) years of experience in a billing or insurance position&mdash;preferably in a healthcare setting&mdash;are required.
