You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable backend services that support real‑time user experiences, AI‑driven capabilities, and enterprise‑grade platforms.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> Across Canada or USA</p>\n<p><strong>Work Model: </strong> Fully Remote</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type: </strong> Contractor</p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Status: </strong>New</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design and implement scalable backend architectures supporting frontend SaaS applications using .NET microservices</li>\n <li>Define and maintain API contracts aligned with frontend workflows and UI data requirements</li>\n <li>Lead the design of microservices for knowledge base management, agent configuration, integrations, and chat services</li>\n <li>Architect and implement secure authentication and authorization services using enterprise identity solutions</li>\n <li>Build high‑availability REST and event‑driven APIs to support real‑time user interactions</li>\n <li>Design and maintain Azure‑based cloud infrastructure including App Services, API Management, Service Bus, and storage solutions</li>\n <li>Develop Python‑based services for AI model orchestration, data processing, and retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines</li>\n <li>Implement scalable services for conversation history and context management</li>\n <li>Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for microservices deployment</li>\n <li>Ensure system observability through logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing</li>\n <li>Define backend performance optimization strategies and caching mechanisms</li>\n <li>Mentor backend engineers and promote architectural best practices</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong experience designing and building backend systems using .NET and microservices architectures</li>\n <li>Experience designing and consuming REST and event‑driven APIs</li>\n <li>Hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services and cloud‑native architectures</li>\n <li>Proficiency in backend API design, scalability, and performance optimization</li>\n <li>Experience with authentication and authorization in enterprise environments</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices</li>\n <li>Experience with Python for backend services, data processing, or AI‑related workloads</li>\n <li>Ability to collaborate effectively with frontend engineers, architects, and product teams</li>\n <li>Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience working with AI platforms, model orchestration, or RAG pipelines</li>\n <li>Familiarity with distributed systems observability tools and practices</li>\n <li>Experience designing real‑time or conversational systems</li>\n <li>Exposure to large‑scale SaaS or enterprise platforms</li>\n <li>Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns for AI-driven applications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ADASTRA</strong></p>\n<p>Adastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
