These positions are located in our Lab Specimen Receiving area:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This area of the lab is the heart of each section – every sample comes through here to be triaged, and the role of these lab assistants is to ensure that the best sample is delivered and processed for testing. Customer service and the ability to multitask are critical skills for this area. It’s fast-paced and you’ll never be bored; if you are thinking of entering the lab as a career, this is a good place to see a little bit of everything.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>We currently have the following position(s) available:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Full-time</strong>, 40-hours/week evening shift positions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Weekends and holidays are shared on a rotation basis with the team, and coverage is expected approximately every 6 weeks, including holidays on rotation.  There is a 15% shift differential for working the weekend.  Please indicate your desired shifts on your application.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>DHMC and Clinics are offering a $5,000 sign-on/retention bonus for this position.  *External applicants only and certain conditions apply.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Candidates for this position need to have obtained their HS Diploma or GED, with some college coursework and previous laboratory experience preferred.  We are seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. We provide on-the-job training for all of our open positions. Our laboratory team is a high-functioning, dedicated group of professionals who work diligently to the highest possible standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Performs functions related to demographic data, test requisitioning, labels and reports. Processes specimens.</li>\n<li>Obtains blood specimens from patients. Obtains specimen requirement information.</li>\n<li>Operates the pneumatic tube system (PTS) to ensure timely delivery of laboratory specimens.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required or assigned.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school graduate required.</li>\n <li>Coursework toward a college degree preferred.</li>\n <li>Previous laboratory experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Licensure/Certifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>None</li>\n</ul>",
