As a Software Design Engineer, you will have an opportunity to lead and collaborate with other engineers to design, plan, develop, and maintain embedded software components.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of embedded software products and components throughout the entire product lifecycle.</li>\n <li>Responsible for project deliverables on time and with high quality.</li>\n <li>Assure proper technical requirement definition with internal and external customers, marketing, manufacturing, and other support groups.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in the definition and implementation of new processes and improvements.</li>\n <li>Identify and create new technologies and ideas to increase the organization’s intellectual property and to better address customer needs.</li>\n <li>Participate in technical feasibility analysis and prototyping activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-onsite #LI-JM1</p>\n<h2>What We Are Looking For</h2>\n<p><strong><em>Education Requirements:</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Technical Skills:</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of professional experience developing power/motor control firmware using C/C++ and model-based design using tools such as MATLAB Simulink.</li>\n <li>Experienced in the architecture, design, hardware/software integration, and development of embedded software to interface and control power electronic convertors. </li>\n <li>Design experience with power invertors, PFCs on TI microcontrollers 28027, 28062F, 280025 or equivalent microcontrollers is required.</li>\n <li>Design and debug experience for peripherals needed for motor control such PWMs, ADCs and timers.</li>\n <li>Experience in the design of analog and digital circuits and control boards.</li>\n <li>Experience and familiarity with modern control theory applied to power domain.</li>\n <li>Experience collaborating in multi-site software development teams and projects.</li>\n <li>Ability to develop unit test driven software components.</li>\n <li>Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) software development.</li>\n <li>Familiarity in technical leadership, project planning, and project tracking.</li>\n <li>Familiar with serial communication protocols (I2C, RS-485, RS-232, CAN, SPI).</li>\n <li>Familiar with industry standard embedded design and debugging tools (JTAG, protocol analyzers, emulators).</li>\n <li>Familiar with Configuration Management tools (Version control, bug tracking, change management, automated builds, and coding standards).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with static and dynamic analysis software tools.</li>\n <li>Experience developing in Waterfall and Iterative Software development processes.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with HVAC control systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Teaming/Soft Skills:</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.</li>\n <li>Ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams (Hardware, Testing, Technical Support, Manufacturing) to deliver sound technical solutions to our customers.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate ability to drive product and process improvements throughout the software organization.</li>\n <li>Ability to work with third parties and offshore development teams as needed.</li>\n <li>Self-driven, results oriented.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What We Offer</h2>\n<p><strong>Compensation</strong>: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between <strong>$96,000-$110,000 </strong>annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the <strong>BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%. </strong>Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Location and Schedule</strong>: This position is located in <strong>Carrollton, TX</strong> and will be <strong>in the office Monday through Friday.</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Benefits</strong>: Subject to applicable eligibility requirements, the following benefits are offered for this role: tuition reimbursement; medical, dental, and vision insurance; prescription drug coverage; 401(k) retirement plan; short-term disability insurance; 8 weeks paid birthing leave; 2 weeks paid bonding leave; life and long-term disability insurance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Paid Time Off:</strong> Depending on date of hire, and subject to applicable eligibility requirements, new employees in this role also receive up to: 12 days paid time off, 2 paid well-being days, 1 paid volunteer day, 9 to 11 paid company holidays depending on the year, and 3 floating holidays per year. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Our Culture</strong>: At Lennox, our Core Values of Integrity, Respect & Excellence are ingrained in the fabric of the organization.
