This position evaluates the suitability of patient referrals to be donors and follows all regulatory standards.</p><p><br></p><align-left><strong>**This is a </strong><u><strong>full-time</strong></u><strong>, non-exempt, benefits eligible role. The call hours are </strong><u><strong>NIGHT SHIFT</strong></u><strong> (7:00p-7:00a). Schedule consists of 3 or 4 shifts per week (depending on staff rotation). Schedule flexibility is needed; shift length can vary based on donor activity.</strong></align-left><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Tissue Recovery &amp; Coordination Responsibilities:</strong></u></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Tissue Recovery:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>1. Recovers tissue to maximize availability for transplant and/or research</strong></p><ul><li>Prepares operating room for recovery process</li><li>Operates closely with Tissue Coordinator to perform physical exam and thoroughly document all findings</li><li>Inspects donor ID band for positive identification of donor</li><li>Arranges instrumentation for the recovery process</li><li>Assures aseptic technique is used during the recovery process (sterile and aseptic)</li></ul><p><strong>2. Packages tissue to effectively transport to shipping facility for processing</strong></p><ul><li>Prepares processor specific boxes needed for shipment</li><li>Packs all tissue and materials needed for shipment</li><li>Insures proper materials are present for shipping</li></ul><p><strong>3. Collects donor information to assure compliance with all federal and/or state governing agencies and industry guidelines</strong></p><ul><li>Initials chart for authorization</li><li>Confirms identification of donor and testing materials</li><li>Verifies tissue shipment information needed for electronic charting system</li><li>Verifies tissue, blood and culture for labeling</li></ul><p><strong>Tissue Coordination:</strong></p><ul><li>Verify authorization for accepted tissue cases</li><li>Review relevant medical records</li><li>Arrange OR time with recovery facility</li><li>Contact Tissue Technicians</li><li>Verify paperwork with team</li><li>Confirm Processor acceptance</li><li>Help/supervise packing supplies</li><li>Make phone calls to appropriate staff at hospitals/processors</li><li>Help set up OR for recovery</li><li>Assist team in OR where necessary</li><li>Concurrently chart in donation database as recovery occurs</li><li>Verify correct graft are recovered and packaged according to processor standards</li><li>Set up shipping of recovered tissue</li></ul><p><strong>4.
