font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Summary:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The Assistant Plant Operator performs duties related to the operation and maintenance of </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">the water/wastewater treatment plant.  This position is authorized to drive a city vehicle and is considered a safety-sensitive position.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Specific Duties:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Performs the duties of crew members as required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Prioritizes repairs and maintenance projects to be completed</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Inspects and maintains treatment plant equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Conducts quality control samples on water and wastewater</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Completes and maintains required reports</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintains work areas in an orderly fashion by cleaning, sweeping, etc</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Monitors the treatment operation including adjusting flows, adjusting chemical input, monitoring gauges, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Performs other related duties as required</span><br></li>\n<li><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential Functions:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to  effectively communicate in oral and written communications</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to operate commercial telephones and a two-way radio</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to operate a variety of moderate to light power-driven equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications and technical manuals</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to perform duties for extended periods of time in extreme weather</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to maintain a physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties </span>and responsibilities which may include walking, standing, bending or sitting for extended periods of time </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others and operating assigned equipment and vehicles</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\">Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or Licenses:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">High school diploma or GED</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Possess a minimum of Class C Wastewater License</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Possess a minimum of Class C Water License</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The ability to obtain the above licenses within the time frame allotted per state regulations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Minimum two years experience in water or wastewater utilities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Valid Texas Driver’s License</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;
