    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-weight: bold\">JOB SUMMARY</span></p>\n<p>This position participates in the provision of lifeguarding services at the city aquatics facility.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MAJOR DUTIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Enforces pool rules and policies.</li>\n<li><br>Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and pools.</li>\n<li><br>Inspects facility and reports unsafe conditions.</li>\n<li><br>Prepares incident and accident reports.</li>\n<li><br>Participates in Lifeguard training exercises.</li>\n<li><br>Responds to water emergencies and performs water rescues.</li>\n<li><br>Responds to water emergencies and performs water rescues.</li>\n<li><br>Measures, reads and records water chemistry.</li>\n<li><br>Performs related duties.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations.</li>\n<li><br>Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years is preferred.</li>\n<li><br>Possession of Lifeguard certification required.</li>\n<li><br>Possession of CPR / First Aid certification required.</li>\n<li><br>Minimum of 15 years of age on date of employment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Applicants that are Certified and those not yet C</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 18px; text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">ertified are welcome to apply.</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">The City will be offering Certification Classes for those interested, but not certified.</span></span></p>\n<p><span>Please contact Joe Riekers, Aquatics Manager, at (361) 727-9989 to obtain additional information on certification training.  </span></p>",
