You'll be part of an agile and dynamic workplace where today's solutions are built for tomorrow's challenges.</p>\n<p>The Mechanical Project Engineer plans and delivers the structural enclosure, mechanical building services and external building envelope for individual projects within a programme, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects that meet technical specifications and client expectations.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>They apply proven abilities to the design of mechanical elements to multiple projects, alone or as part of a multi-disciplined project team. A project could consist of: Data Centre Cooling packages, Heat Transfer packages, Pump packages, Boiler plant packages, Chiller / Cooling Tower plant packages, standalone Control Systems or similar. They possess Project Management skills and have a strong focus on providing excellent Customer Care.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Accountabilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Project Planning and Coordination</span>:</p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Define project requirements and objectives with stakeholders to establish clear project goals and deliverables.</li>\n<li>Clear communication of mechanical layout requirements and hours, free of defects and compliant to customer specification / Armstrong standards.</li>\n<li>Liaison with professional bodies</li>\n<li>Develop and maintain project schedules for mechanical tasks, setting milestones and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely completion.</li>\n<li>Interface with other departments (electrical, civil, structural) to align mechanical aspects with broader project requirements and resolve any design or scheduling conflicts.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Compliance and Safety</span>:</p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct safety reviews and hazard analyses to identify risks in mechanical design and installation, implementing measures to mitigate hazards.</li>\n<li>Participate in site inspections and audits to verify compliance and provide guidance on corrective actions as needed.</li>\n<li>Maintenance of relevant regulatory /legislative compliance</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Support and Problem Solving</span>:</p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Provide on-site technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases, addressing any issues or modifications required.</li>\n<li>Troubleshoot mechanical issues during project execution, identifying root causes and developing solutions to maintain project timelines.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure that installed components and systems meet project specifications and quality standards.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Cost Management and Budget Control</span>:</p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare cost estimates and budgets for mechanical components, labour, and materials; monitor actual expenses to ensure alignment with the budget.</li>\n<li>Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising project quality or safety standards.</li>\n<li>Assist procurement by selecting vendors, verifying equipment and material specifications, and negotiating competitive pricing.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Documentation and Reporting</span>:</p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design calculations, test results, and technical drawings.</li>\n<li>Adherence to project milestone review and approval process. Linking with customers.</li>\n<li>Generate progress reports, technical reports, and final project summaries to communicate project status to stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Compile and organize all as-built documentation and operation manuals for project closeout and future reference.</li>\n<li>Oversee the documentation of project activities, including progress reports, test results, and final project handover documents.</li>\n<li>Maintain and update the Digital Project Engineering Group software (JIRA) templates as required.</li>\n<li>Support visibility of workload, progress, and dependencies across the project team through accurate system data, using JIRA &amp; Power BI.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ol>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Continuous Improvement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with Programme &amp; Project Managers and support teams to improve the accuracy and flow of project information.</li>\n<li>Identify opportunities to improve project support processes, templates, and digital systems.</li>\n<li>Support lessons‑learned and continuous improvement initiatives within the project delivery team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Role Boundaries</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role operates under the direction of the Programme &amp; Project Managers and Project Engineer, priorities will be defined by the reporting manager.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<p>To thrive in this role, you should bring:</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education</span>:</p>\n<p>Mechanical Engineering. HNC Level – preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience</span>:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Substantial work experience in mechanical project engineering, particularly within project-focused environments such as construction, manufacturing, or energy.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Certifications</span>:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>PMP, AGPM or Prince 2 – preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Proficiency</span>:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, or similar is preferred but not essential) and strong understanding of mechanical principles.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office</li>\n<li>Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.</li>\n<li>Experience with SharePoint.</li>\n<li>Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).</li>\n<li>ERP System experience (Infor LN preferable but not essential)</li>\n<li>Experience with JIRA (preferable but not essential)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Communication: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Analytical Abilities</span>: Ability to conduct detailed mechanical analyses and interpret results to ensure designs meet specifications and safety requirements.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Project Management</span>: Solid grasp of project management principles, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessment.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Attention to Detail</span>: High attention to detail, especially regarding safety and quality standards in design and implementation.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time Management</span>: Ability to work on own initiative but also be a key member of a team. Ability to management multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.</li>\n<li>Located in Droitwich Spa with travel to customer sites within the EMEA region. When not traveling to customers site, role require Droitwich Spa site attendance Monday-Friday.
