Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a <strong>Systems Engineer</strong> in <strong>Herndon, Virginia</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:   </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are actively seeking Systems Engineer with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eleven (11) years' experience. </p>\n<ul>\n <li> Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux (RHEL based) operating systems</li>\n <li> Familiarity with system hardening, security hardening, remote desktop, patch management, and configuration management tools</li>\n <li> Experience supporting RMF or other accreditation frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53B, A&A, etc.)</li>\n <li> Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Apache Web Services</li>\n <li> Amazon Web services experience (EC2 instances, CloudFormation, S3 Storage, RDS (MySQL))</li>\n <li> Ability to work in a high profile fast-paced environment.</li>\n <li> Strong oral and written communication skills</li>\n <li> Conduct root cause analysis of noted system performance an operational issue.</li>\n <li> Monitor the performance systems to analyze the metrics produced to identify areas of improvements and report potential anomalies.</li>\n <li> Emergency after hours engineering support as needed.</li>\n <li> Communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Database Administrator (DBA)</li>\n <li> Networking experience/ Automation</li>\n <li> API Engineer</li>\n <li> Experience working in air-gapped environments or with classified systems</li>\n <li> Experience with Agile methodologies and working in sprint-based development cycles</li>\n <li> Familiarity with security in CI/CD pipelines and container security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)</li>\n <li> Knowledge of zero trust architecture and identity/access management strategies</li>\n <li> Toolsets & Platforms:</li>\n <li> Security Tools: Splunk, Rapid 7</li>\n <li> Operating Systems: Windows Server, RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu</li>\n <li> Compliance Tools: Rapid 7, Greenlight, Illuminate</li>\n <li> Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP</li>\n <li> Automation/Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible</li>\n <li> DevSecOps: Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes</li>\n <li> Soft Skills:</li>\n <li> Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills</li>\n <li> Excellent communication and documentation abilities</li>\n <li> Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What you can expect from us</h2>\n<p><em>BCore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
