Description
About Us:
Callen-Lorde is a nationally recognized leader in community-based healthcare. Since the days of Stonewall, we have provided excellent, comprehensive care—free of judgment and regardless of ability to pay. We are committed to fostering an environment where all individuals receive equal dignity and respect in healthcare services.
Beyond patient care, Callen-Lorde engages in research, advocacy, and education to advance equitable access to healthcare for all communities.
Our Mission
Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities — in all their diversity — regardless of ability to pay. To further this mission, Callen-Lorde promotes health education and wellness, and advocates for LGBTQ+ health issues.
About the Role:
Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven physician executive to serve as Vice President of Research, Education, and Sexual Wellness (VP-RESW). Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this senior leader will drive strategic initiatives across clinical research, education and training, and sexual wellness program development.
This role is instrumental in advancing Callen-Lorde’s position as a national leader in LGBTQ+ and HIV care by strengthening research partnerships, expanding educational programming, and ensuring high-quality, affirming sexual wellness services across all care settings.
As a Vice President of Research, Education, and Sexual Wellness, your key responsibilities will include:
Lead and advance research initiatives, partnerships, and grant development while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Oversee education and training programs, including curriculum development and clinical training for staff and learners.
Provide strategic and clinical leadership for Sexual Wellness services, including program growth, quality improvement, and standardization of care.
Monitor and improve clinical quality, access, and patient outcomes across services and care settings.
Maintain a part-time clinical practice and serve as a physician leader and role model.
Direct and develop the Research and Education team, including staff supervision and performance management.
Partner with senior leadership on strategy, operations, budgeting, and organizational priorities.
Represent the organization internally and externally, including with academic, community, and professional partners.
Work Schedule:
Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position
Benefits:
Salary will be based on experience and will be accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including an exceptional low cost medical plan option for you, your spouse/domestic partner and/or your family, dental insurance, vision insurance, no cost life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, Tuition Assistance, commuter benefits, a generous paid time off plan, and a 403B retirement savings plan.

Demonstrated experience in grant writing and management, including government, foundation, and corporate funding sources.
