Dates of summer program (including training) are May 26th-July 3rd &nbsp;2026<br>\n  This is a temporary position from May 26th-July 3rd 2026. &nbsp;The total pay of $1800 is to be split as follows: &nbsp;May - $277, June - $1,385, July - $138</p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>-Work cooperatively with the Research Mentor to teach core scientific concepts required to complete participants’ research projects.<br>\n  - Provide an active, student-centered learning environment.<br>\n  -Work with math teachers if specific topics need to be covered in participant math courses to ensure success in participant science courses.<br>\n  - Must be available to teach a lecture component on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30am-9:30am with a lab component on Tuesday afternoon from 3:30pm-5:30pm. &nbsp;Also attend at least 1 study hall session Mon, Wed, or Thurs. from 3pm-5pm.<br>\n  - Attend all weekly academic meetings, as required.</p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>Junior standing at the undergraduate level in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field; 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>\n<p>Successful criminal background check necessary for working with minors is required</p>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  &nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>Bachelor’s degree</p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS: </strong></p>\n<p>Complete the online application.&nbsp; The department additionally requests candidates upload the following document(s) for a complete application:&nbsp;</p>\n<ol>\n <li>Cover letter&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Resume or C.V. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>In your cover letter please address what high school level science classes you are qualified to teach based on your education and/or experience.</li>\n <li>Current students please upload a copy of your most recent transcripts, or email to <a href=\"mailto:[email protected]\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">[email protected]</a></li>\n <li>Please upload an example lesson plan you would use in your course focused on a specific topic in the class you indicated in your cover letter. &nbsp;For example, in Chemistry an introduction to the Periodic Table, for Physics the formulas for Force or in Biology an introduction to cell terms. &nbsp;The lesson should be geared toward high school students aged 9th-12th grade. &nbsp;You can also email to [email protected]</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong>WORK LOCATION:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>On-campus:</strong> This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.&nbsp;</p>\n<div>\n <p><strong>HIRING STATEMENT/EEO:  &nbsp;</strong></p>\n</div>\n<div>\n <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
