Job Summary<br><br>WM is seeking a motivated and ambitious District Manager to develop the skills needed to lead the daily operations of a district in Northern California or Nevada. This role provides a unique opportunity to build expertise in district management through hands-on experience with safety protocols, financial performance, and employee leadership. As a District Manager, you’ll be instrumental in overseeing drivers, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering strong relationships with municipal partners, and driving cost-effective operations. The ideal candidate holds a degree and has at least two years of leadership experience in operations, finance, or people management. Flexibility to travel and a commitment to our sustainability mission are essential. Relocation to a district within Northern California or Nevada, in either a rural or urban area, will be required as skills for the role are developed.</p><p>Manages the day-to-day collection operations of a single site, establishes, and maintains performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes. Responsible for P&amp;L. Drivers will report directly to this role.</p><p>This role can sit in Sacramento, CA, &nbsp;Lodi, CA, Stockton, CA or Reno, NV for the 1 year duration of our training program. After the program you will be required to relocate to any of our sites in Northern CA or Nevada.&nbsp;<br><br>II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<br>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Manages the District’s day-to-day operations and provides daily support to drivers in ensuring safety, service, and savings.</li><li>Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.</li><li>Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following up with consistent coaching and retraining.</li><li>Oversees department personnel needs, including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Manages termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.</li><li>Formulates short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Senior District Manager and/or Director of Collection Operations.</li><li>Participates in regular P&amp;L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.</li><li>Interacts with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts, and negotiate new contracts; establishes WM as a good corporate citizen and valued resource.</li></ul><p><br>III. Qualifications&nbsp;<br><br>A. Required Qualifications&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Associate's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree,</li><li>High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 2 years of relevant work experience.</li><li>2 years in a role with supervisory and/or P&amp;L responsibility (in addition to education requirement).</li><li>Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record</li><li>Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record throughout the duration of employment in this position</li></ul><p><br>B. Preferred Qualifications&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Bachelors Degree</li><li>2 years in a role with supervisory , lead or management role</li></ul><p><br>IV.
