This includes: appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of the interior and exterior of the vehicle; appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of equipment; inspecting; restocking, and completing daily checklists of the vehicle and equipment; and performing some routine maintenance.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ensures security of buildings, vehicles, equipment, medications and all other company property.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs daily inspections of their base and/or station for cleanliness. Then performs the appropriate housekeeping duties to ensure their living quarters are clean, free from clutter and sanitary at all times.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains appropriate communications with company dispatch, medical control and other agencies via radio, data link, pager or cell phone as required.</li>\r\n\t<li>Be knowledgeable as to local geography to include location of hospitals, public venues as well as local streets and highway systems.</li>\r\n\t<li>Responds to emergencies and non-emergencies using appropriate care and caution in accordance with state law, EMS regulations, company policy, and the principles of safe emergency vehicle operation.</li>\r\n\t<li>Renders emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with local medical protocol and state law, adhering to company, local, regional, and state guidelines regarding patient care consistent with good judgment and the provision of high quality medical care.</li>\r\n\t<li>Appropriately and safely delivers the patient to the appropriate medical facility.</li>\r\n\t<li>Acts at all times in the best interests of high quality patient care, in the best interest of the patient, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and in such a manner to reflect credibly on the company and the professional reputation of the EMT.</li>\r\n\t<li>Acts at all times with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of his/her partner, the patient, other EMS personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present.</li>\r\n\t<li>Accompanies patients to their destination, continuing to provide appropriate care and patient advocacy until the responsibility for the patient has been transferred to an appropriate medical professional and a report has been given.</li>\r\n\t<li>Completes and signs all appropriate documentation for every response and transport.</li>\r\n\t<li>Obtains complete medical histories and billing information for all patients treated and/or transported.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information at all times in accordance HIPPA and all other local, state and federal regulations.</li>\r\n\t<li>Adheres to Universal Precautions/Body Substance Isolation when dealing with patient contacts.
