You’ll apply your front-end development expertise to build and maintain the components that power SAS’s marketing and post-purchase experiences. You’ll partner with designers, the Developer Lead, and cross-functional teams to implement accessible, performant components based on design specifications, working within an established design system while contributing to its evolution. You’ll have the opportunity to impact how customers experience SAS digital properties at global scale.</p>\n<p><strong>As a </strong><strong>Software Developer you will: </strong>  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop front-end components based on design specifications, ensuring implementations match design intent and meet quality, performance, and accessibility standards.</li>\n <li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established patterns, conventions, and best practices for the component library.</li>\n <li>Implement responsive, accessible components that meet WCAG compliance standards and work seamlessly across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with designers to refine component specifications, provide technical feasibility input, and ensure smooth design-to-development handoff.</li>\n <li>Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and share knowledge across the team.</li>\n <li>Write unit tests, integration tests, and accessibility tests to ensure component reliability and prevent regressions.</li>\n <li>Contribute to component documentation in Storybook, including usage guidelines, prop specifications, and interactive examples.</li>\n <li>Consume and extend Filament design tokens and foundational components, ensuring consistency with the broader design system.</li>\n <li>Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.</li>\n <li>Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS. </li>\n <li>Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals. </li>\n <li>Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required qualifications</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)</li>\n <li>5 years of front-end development experience</li>\n <li>Proficiency with modern front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component frameworks (particularly React, including meta-frameworks like Next.js), and Web Components</li>\n <li>Experience building web components or working within component-based architectures</li>\n <li>Experience implementing accessible web interfaces with an understanding of WCAG standards and assistive technology compatibility</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of responsive design, CSS layout techniques, and cross-browser compatibility</li>\n <li>An understanding of the current AI landscape and a familiarity with AI/Agentic AI dev tooling and version control system (Git)</li>\n <li>Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Additional competencies, knowledge and skills  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Considers others’ perspectives—Involves others throughout the decision-making process to obtain better information, generate alternatives, and ensure buy-in to the resulting decisions; builds consensus when appropriate.</li>\n   <li>Takes action—Initiates action to correct quality problems or notifies others of quality issues as appropriate.</li>\n   <li>Shares expertise—Keeps others informed about latest technology innovations; serves as a technical resource to help others understand and anticipate the impact of technology on current processes, products, and services.</li>\n   <li>Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries, including familiarity with design tokens, CSS architecture patterns, theming systems, and component documentation tools such as Storybook</li>\n   <li>Strong understanding of front-end architecture and development practices, including single-page versus multi-page applications, TypeScript and type-safe development, and modern build tools, package managers, and tooling</li>\n   <li>Experience with software quality and delivery practices, including automated testing frameworks and exposure to Agile software development methodologies</li>\n   <li>Familiarity with global-ready front-end development, including internationalization and localization considerations</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>World-class benefits </strong> </p>\n<p>Highlights include...</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision plans.</li>\n <li>Medical plan options include:\n  <ul>\n   <li>PPO with low annual deductible and copays.</li>\n   <li>HDHP combined with a health savings account with a contribution from SAS (no access to on-site health care center).</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Onsite Health Care Center (HQ) that’s free to employees and family members enrolled in the PPO plan.
