Description

Description The PWP Coordinator will assist in program development, marketing, staff training and service monitoring for the clinic’s Infant Mental Health program. This position will take the lead role in coordinating the activities of the IMH team as well as collect and report all necessary data to the supervisor. This position will also maintain a caseload with children in our PWP Program (Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood Services). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1. Master’s degree in social work, psychology or other related human service field required. 2. Full or Limited License in social work, counseling, or psychology in the State of Michigan required. 3. Must have reliable mode of transportation and must possess a current valid State of Michigan driver’s license. 4. At least two years direct clinical experience in providing 0-5 homebased services required. This includes: assessment, IMH intervention, play therapy, and treatment planning. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Must have reliable mode of transportation and must possess a current valid State of Michigan driver’s license and automobile insurance. 2. Knowledge of adult mental illness and child development required. 3. Established formal and informal assessment skills. 4. Ability to demonstrate commitment, caring and respect for children and adults from diverse backgrounds who have multiple needs or concerns. 5. Ability to work cooperatively and responsibly as a member of a team with colleagues, supervisors, agency staff and collateral contacts. 6. Ability to develop treatment plans and coordinate needed services to fulfill plans utilizing a person-centered planning approach. 7. Knowledge of parenting techniques and interventions for young children. 8. Ability to make critical decisions independent of immediate supervision. 9. Knowledge of community resources and provision of case management services. 10. Experience with cross-systems delivery of services. 11. Knowledge of theory and practice of individual, group and family systems treatment. 12. Competence in the delivery of crisis intervention services. 13. Must be computer literate and have experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. 14. Ability to effectively, appropriately, and accurately communicate both orally and in writing. 15. Ability to meet client service hours expectation as assigned by program supervisor. 16. Ability and willingness to abide by all Starfish Family Services policies and procedures. 17. Ability and desire for personal and professional growth, and skill development. 18. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback. 19. Must have a commitment to the welfare of the children and families the program serves and to the delivery of quality services. 20. Ability to work flexible hours as needed (i.e., some evenings or weekend work is required). 21. Must have the ability to work with all members of the community regardless of race, age, sex, sexual orientation, and cultural or ethnic background. 22. Must maintain professional and ethical standards. 23. Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner and develop new relationships with other community agencies. 24. Commitment to personal and professional work in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide anticipatory guidance to other professionals including interns working with the 0-5 population. This includes training, technical assistance, monitoring and coordination of assessments and interventions for children. 2. Identify and work closely with leadership team and employees on program development, and client and employee/intern needs. 3. Monitor program referrals and assignment of caseloads to the 0-5 homebased program. 4. Review documentation that is completed by team members and interns and identify any training needs. 5. Provide comprehensive assessments and treatment planning with measurable objectives. 6. Provide support and crisis intervention for families and children involved with the program. 7. Assist in coordination and referrals of support services to families in the program. 8. Provide Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood services within the home and community settings in accordance with the Medicaid Provider Manual for the State of Michigan and agency guidelines. 9. Facilitate parent and child support groups, therapy groups, and/or play groups as needed. 10. Provide parent education and developmental guidance. 11. Work cooperatively as a member of a team with program staff and community resources. 12. Participate in marketing and community outreach activities as needed. 13. Provide programming and mental health training to other professionals. 14. Maintain client files in accordance with Detroit-Wayne Integrated Health Network compliance standards along with agency requirements. 15. Submit timely and accurate documentation of services, billing data and required paperwork. 16. Responsible for working with team members, supervisor, children, families and community contacts in a manner that is conducive to the philosophy and mission of the program and agency. 17. Participate in individual and group supervision. 18. Participate in on-going personal and professional development including in-service training peer review, external workshops and seminars. 19. Accept and emulate the mission of SFS. 20. Assist in finding and directing clients in case of an emergency such as a fire or tornado. 21. Cooperate in any investigation related to personnel, licensing, accreditation, or other circumstances as needed. 22. Attend all agency and departmental meetings and training as required. 23. Adhere to all agency and behavioral health services policies and procedures as it relates to documentation, client service hours, training requirements, CMH guidelines, and confidentiality. 24. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or other management. NOTE: The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by the position in this job classification. Not all duties are included. It is expected an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
