Description
Syngenta Seeds is one of the world’s largest developers and producers of seed for farmers, commercial growers, retailers and small seed companies. Syngenta seeds improve the quality and yields of crops. High-quality seeds ensure better and more productive crops, which is why farmers invest in them. Advanced seeds help mitigate risks such as disease and drought and allow farmers to grow food using less land, less water and fewer inputs.
Syngenta Seeds brings farmers more vigorous, stronger, resistant plants, including innovative hybrid varieties and biotech crops that can thrive even in challenging growing conditions.
Syngenta Seeds is headquartered in the United States.
Using agronomic expertise and collaborating with production teams to identify opportunities that drive yield and seed quality improvements in seeds production
Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to drive implementation of new technologies in seeds production
Driving innovation and influencing changes that benefit the seed supply chain and farmers while making agriculture environmentally more sustainable
Support the development and execution of the NA seeds production field & process technology project portfolio. It includes effective alignment with stakeholders, successful execution, and communication of results and recommendations with production teams
Coordinate and execute day-to-day field & process technology activities, manage personnel workload and task assignments at the research site
Lead the NA SPR Pollen Lab, driving continuous improvement in efficiency and data quality while expanding laboratory capabilities to meet evolving customer needs
Lead and assist with experimental design and trial creation. This involves identifying relevant field & process technology projects, determining seed/agricultural product entry lists, and making all necessary preparations to ensure timely experiment execution and completion
Assure that field activities for all projects (planting, plot maintenance, and harvest) are properly executed. It includes routine site/farm maintenance activities such as tillage, soil sampling, fertilizer applications, planting plots, applying/implementing treatments, collecting observations and in-season data, and maintaining plots throughout the growing season. Fall activities include harvest stand counts and actual plot harvest
Graduate education/degree preferred but can be supplemented with significant relevant experience
Seeds production knowledge across a range of crops required (3 years of industry experience)
Thorough understanding of experimental design and statistical analysis
Practical experience leveraging AI-driven tools in a work setting, paired with a genuine curiosity to expand their application for continuous improvement and efficiency gains
Appreciation of statistical or modeling approaches
