Description
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Aerospace Design Group in Merritt Island, Florida!
Join RS&H’s Aerospace and Equipment Group as an Electrical Engineer and help shape the infrastructure that supports the nation’s most advanced aerospace, military, and energy missions. You’ll work alongside a talented team of engineers and architects to design launch facilities, processing centers, ground support systems, military installations, and large‑scale industrial equipment. This role places you at the heart of multidisciplinary collaboration and requires a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to space exploration.
You will lead the design of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, standby power systems, and a wide range of building electrical systems—from grounding, lightning protection, and lighting controls to fire detection, VESDA, access control, hazardous leak detection, paging and warning systems, CCTV, gas monitoring, and telecommunications. Your work will also involve performing detailed engineering analyses such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, cable sizing, conduit fill, and protective device coordination.
Success in this role requires strong knowledge of hazardous location wiring, material compatibility, and the ability to produce high‑quality diagrams, schematics, bills of materials, and build‑to‑print documentation for control and monitoring systems. Experience selecting electrical and instrumentation components for ground support equipment is a strong advantage.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent)
At least 7 years of relevant experience
Active PE license
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UFC, UFGS, SpecsIntact, SpecLink
Knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, 101, 497, and 780
Familiarity with Creo
Experience with AGI32 and SKM Power Tools
An Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.
