As we continue to grow, we are looking for a seasoned <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Senior Systems &amp; Infrastructure Engineer</span> to join our IT Operations team in Malta who operates on-prem infrastructure (mostly Linux-based) and manages databases, networks, CDN, WAF, and our AWS footprint. The team is in charge of maximizing uptime and enables the organization to deliver services to our partners and internal stakeholders.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Main responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Design, build, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure (Ubuntu and Enterprise Linux) across on-prem, virtualization and containerization platforms.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Troubleshoot complex network and routing issues BGP, DNS, connectivity, and performance problems across on-prem and cloud environments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Troubleshoot dotnet applications and coordinate with Support and Developers teams to detect and fix any potential issues.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Maintain and Troubleshoot hardware issues in server platforms (DELL, HPE, SuperMicro, etc).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Manage and optimize web services and proxies, working with CDN, WAF, load balancing, and PKI infrastructure.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Operate and tune MySQL and Redis instances, including replication, backups, and performance troubleshooting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Implement and maintain automation and configuration management using Ansible, Opscode Chef, and Rundeck for repeatable, auditable operations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Manage and secure AWS resources, particularly S3 and IAM, following least-privilege and security best practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Administer identity and access management with tools like FreeIPA or LDAP and integrate them across the infrastructure.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Use Zabbix, Grafana, VictoriaLogs and other log aggregation tools to monitor systems and applications, define metrics and alerts, and improve observability.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Handle Linux storage management (filesystems, LVM/RAID, capacity planning, performance tuning).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Participate in and help improve incident management, including on-call, incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Collaborate with application teams (e.g., Dotnet applications) to support deployments and troubleshoot issues.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Contribute to security event handling: investigate alerts, assist with remediation, and help apply hardening and best practices across the stack.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Contribute to IT Security audits: vulnerability evaluations, penetration testing, evidence collection.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential Skills:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Very Strong experience with Linux systems administration (Ubuntu and Enterprise Linux).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Solid network troubleshooting skills (Ethernet, BGP, DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancers)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Proven experience operating production infrastructure (baremetal, virtualization and cloud).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using Ansible, Python, and Bash.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience with monitoring and observability tools Zabbix, Log Aggregation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience with relational databases (MySQL) and basic caching (Redis) operations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience running web workloads (web servers, proxies, TLS, reverse proxies, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience with AWS (S3, IAM).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">This role is primarily remote, with occasional visits to our Malta office.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">We are committed to fair and transparent pay where compensation decisions are based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including skills, experience, qualifications, and role scope.
