    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:  </strong>The Renal Specialist Level I will identify the needs and priorities of the dialysis and apheresis patient through assessment. The Renal Specialist Level I plans and delegates care based on patient needs.  The Renal Specialist Level I evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes.  The Renal Specialist Level I is accountable for outcomes of patient care of assigned patients.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><em>Demonstrates through behavior Huntsville Hospital’s mission, vision and values as outlined in this document, Employee Handbook and the Power of Excellence.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h1>Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions</h1>\n<li> Administers treatments to the dialysis and apheresis patient.</li>\n<li> Performs basic assessment of the patient and care of the patient throughout </li>\n<p>     dialysis and/or apheresis treatment.</p>\n<li> Operates dialysis and apheresis machines including troubleshooting of problems.</li>\n<li> Instructs the ICU staff in the care of the CRRT patient.</li>\n<li> Teaches the patient and the family disease process and the care of the access.</li>\n<li> Assists physician with insertion of a temporary access.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h1>Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: </h1>\n<p>Education: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama licensure.</p>\n<p>Experience: Prefer ICU and/or previous Dialysis experience.  Responsibility of the Dialysis staff to give supporting documentation for Renal Specialist II to the Dialysis Unit Charge Nurse.
