We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>Clinical Consultant, Pharmacokinetics Lab Director </strong>works closely with Directors and Manager to support the scientific and technical oversight of a clinical/bioanalytical laboratory, focused on precision medicine in the areas of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) and Pharmacogenetics (PGx).  This position will perform clinical case review and sign-out in a consistent manner and ensure samples are worked up appropriately by institutional and laboratory standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position will be Per Diem, and once fully trained, shifts will be available on </strong><strong>Thursday and Friday from 9:30am-2:30pm, and/or Saturday from 10am-3pm. Additional coverage opportunities may be available.</strong> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Review, approve, interpret, and report all laboratory results promptly, accurately and proficiently. This can include: 1) TDM pharmacokinetics data and dose recommendations; 2) PGx data and confirm appropriate dosing guidance. Provide consultation to clinicians and collaborate with Directors to ensure consistent practices.</li>\n <li>Be available as scheduled to provide onsite or remote consultation to laboratory staff, clinicians, and clients.</li>\n <li>Assist the Directors and Manager in the following:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ensure case workups are done appropriately to institutional and laboratory standards.</li>\n   <li>Ensure lab adheres to all applicable laboratory regulations and guidelines (CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, TJC, CPIC, etc.)</li>\n   <li>Determine appropriate tests to be performed and that testing systems used meet quality standards, including preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic phases.</li>\n   <li>Support development and maintenance of clinical and research activities within the laboratory.</li>\n   <li>Provide technical expertise for the Pharmacokinetics Lab as necessary.</li>\n   <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>MD, DO, PhD, DCLS, PharmD or equivalent in biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution</li>\n <li>At least 4 total years of training or related work experience or equivalent in at least one of the specific specialty areas: 1) clinical chemistry, therapeutic drug monitoring, and clinical pharmacology; 2) molecular genetics, pharmacogenetics/omics; post-doctoral fellowship counts toward this.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated expertise/experience/knowledge in/of at least one of the following specialty areas: 1) clinical chemistry, therapeutic drug monitoring, and clinical pharmacology; 2) molecular genetics, pharmacogenetics/omics</li>\n <li>Mature judgment</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as a member of a team</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills, both written and spoken</li>\n <li>Ability to prioritize and work in a rapidly changing environment</li>\n <li>Proven experience working effectively with clinicians, administrators and researchers in a fast-paced, mission-driven, multi-disciplinary environment and across organizational lines to achieve excellent outcomes</li>\n <li>Detail-oriented</li>\n <li>Strong math and computer skills, including ability to analyze and interpret data</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Must have at least one of the following:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active or be eligible for HHS-approved board certification as a laboratory director of a laboratory performing high complexity testing under the CLIA ’88 regulations, Subpart M, Section 493.1443 OR</li>\n <li>Active licensure as physician, osteopathic physician, or pharmacist in the state of Washington where the laboratory is located</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of CAP/CLIA regulations</li>\n <li>Work experience in a high complexity clinical lab</li>\n <li>Experience in oncology</li>\n</ul>The hourly pay range for this position is from $91.05 to $151.72, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  Most Fred Hutch jobs require \n<em>some</em> on-campus work. However, there may be flexibility for certain positions.
