Description

As an Avionics Technician (Manufacturing) at Impulse, you’ll be responsible for the precision assembly, inspection, and documentation of high-reliability avionics assemblies used in low-earth orbit and beyond. Your work will directly impact the reliability and mission success of our Mira and Helios spacecraft. This role is designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing while developing technical skills, process discipline, and an understanding of quality and safety standards. Perform electromechanical assembly work. Perform precision fitting, torquing, sealing, and alignment of components. Clean, prep, and handle parts in accordance with aerospace cleanliness standards. Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions. Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances or build issues. Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly rate and efficiency. Collaborate with engineers and quality assurance on issue resolution, process improvements, and documentation updates. Record build data and ensure traceability of parts and workmanship per aerospace standards. High school diploma or equivalency certificate 2+ years of experience with electromechanical assembly 2+ years of experience in a production environment, e.g. in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, etc. Attention to detail Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills Proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, calipers, micrometers, and basic measurement equipment 5+ years of demonstrated experience working on electromechanical assemblies for space applications 2+ years of experience with adhesives in a production environment Cleanroom experience Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options , and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan . Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This position requires applicants to be either U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent U.S. resident (green card holder), an individual granted asylum in the U.S., or an individual admitted in U.S. refugee status) or persons eligible to obtain an export license from the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, or other applicable U.S. government agencies.
