    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>MEP Technician II is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and service on the electrical - mechanical systems supporting the Data Center. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. Educate and train other TierPoint personnel on tasks related to the mechanical-electrical systems and components. Responsible for facility electrical/mechanical systems, documentation and ongoing service and support.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides high quality, accurate, consistent, and efficient work for internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values</li>\n <li>Adopt and use defined systems, tools, procedures, processes, and standards</li>\n <li>Proactively manage ticket queue for timely request and response completion</li>\n <li>Manage and complete assigned projects and report progress</li>\n <li>Update documentation in a timely and accurate manner</li>\n <li>Perform all daily operational tasks</li>\n <li>Installation and termination of network and communication wiring</li>\n <li>Support and validate power infrastructure and deployment</li>\n <li>Provide remote hands and eyes support for internal or external client issues</li>\n <li>Ensure all aspects of the physical infrastructure are kept clean and orderly</li>\n <li>Perform routine physical inspections for alarm identification and operational issues</li>\n <li>Understand and follow escalation procedures</li>\n <li>Adhere to security procedures and controls</li>\n <li>Follow all safety guidelines and best practices</li>\n <li>In emergency situations, dispatch technicians and or vendors, as needed, in the absence of Management.</li>\n <li>Provide technical guidance to less experienced site personnel.</li>\n <li>Installation and termination of network, access control and communication wiring and components</li>\n <li>Record and maintain power metrics and other related details on a regular basis.</li>\n <li>Installation of new equipment and removal of systems as required</li>\n <li>Assist in the physical installation of computer equipment and components, cable tray, and cabling.</li>\n <li>Other responsibilities as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Electrical</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Significant experience in operating, troubleshooting, repairing and assisting in performance on preventative maintenance of TierPoint’s electrical systems and components. These can include but are not limited to:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Low and medium voltage switch gear, static transfer switches, power distribution units, remote power panels, branch circuits, large or medium voltage diesel generator systems, large UPS systems, building fire alarm / life safety, fire suppression systems and critical infrastructure monitoring systems.</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Install and repair connectivity demarcation units for electrical and telecommunications circuitry.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge in all aspects of Data Center electrical operations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>HVAC/Plumbing</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Significant experience supporting HVAC and environmental operations</li>\n <li>Operate, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on TierPoint’s mechanical systems and components. These can include but are not limited to: CRAC/CRAH units, condensing coils, rooftop units, chillers, cooling towers, and associated components for HVAC and plumbing systems.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge in all aspects of Data Center mechanical operations.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications - Electrical</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong proficiency with the following:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Multi-module or single module UPS systems</li>\n   <li>Low and medium voltage switchgear</li>\n   <li>Low and medium voltage diesel generators</li>\n   <li>Raised floor or overhead bus power distribution</li>\n   <li>PLC controls and components</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Exercise flexibility in challenging situations</li>\n <li>Ability to read and analyze blueprints and construction drawings including one line diagrams</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to provide direction to Operations Technicians in absence of Management</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of automated building control systems</li>\n <li>Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of standards, practices and procedures of installing, testing and operating electrical and mechanical equipment. Usually works with limited supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Minimum Qualifications – Mechanical/Plumbing</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong proficiency with the following:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Datacenter HVAC and related components; ie CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers and rooftop units</li>\n   <li>Plumbing/Piping and related components</li>\n   <li>PLC controls and components</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Proven proficiency in the operation of 100% uptime data centers, critical facilities environment or industrial power systems</li>\n <li>Exercise flexibility in challenging situations</li>\n <li>Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills</li>\n <li>Extensive experience with detailed record keeping and data entry accuracy</li>\n <li>Ability to read and analyze blueprints and construction drawings including one-line diagrams</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of automated building control systems</li>\n <li>Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of standards, practices and procedures of installing, testing and operating electrical and mechanical equipment. Usually works with limited supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>6 + years of technical training or related experience working in a mission critical building engineering operation.</li>\n <li>3 + years as a Journeyman Electrician or HVAC Technician with satisfactory or better performance plus three years of industry experience.</li>\n <li>Associate degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Engineering / Mechanical Technology, Construction Management, a related field or equivalent experience.</li>\n <li>Current Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license or Universal CFC Refrigeration License in good standing with the local authorities or equivalent experience.</li>\n <li>Technical training may be trade school or manufacturers training on UPS systems, medium voltage switchgear, low voltage power distribution units, building automation systems, 1.0  megawatt and larger engine-generator sets and/or large diesel engines, and other training directly related to the operation and maintenance of electrical / mechanical plant in a high reliability environment.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with ASHRAE, NEC and NFPA.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously</li>\n <li>Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications</li>\n <li>Ability to use a ladder to work in elevated areas</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Working Conditions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Facility / construction environment</li>\n <li>Responding to 24x7 electrical and mechanical operational issues, which requires off-hour coverage</li>\n <li>Data center environment – sensitive computer equipment and complex power/cooling systems</li>\n <li>Ability to work in controlled environments and handle physical tasks such as lifting hardware or navigating confined spaces.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay Transparency</strong>TierPoint is committed to practices that promote pay equity and transparency.
